  • SF FF jello cheesecake

Any ideas on what I can do with a box of sugar free, fat free cheese cake flavored jello pudding? I obviously don't want to just mix some up the standard way with milk. I'm open to any ideas but would really be happy with something induction friendly...

    Re: SF FF jello cheesecake

welp, I wouldn't view any form of jello as being induction friendly (even if you know that you're not one of the folks who stall from it). And I think you should probably check the nutrition information regarding the number of carbs that are in it.. it has starch which is prohibited on induction, and if I remember correctly, the pudding's just not worth it. There are a lot of other foods you can make that are yummy and induction friendly.

That being said... I think I tried to make it once with heavy cream or something and it was ummm.. interesting. I obviously didn't think it was worth it since I don't buy the pudding anymore.

HAHA.. ok.. I've been looking at this box forever in my cabinet. Wasn't sure if there was something I could do with it or not... I wanted cheese cake for the longest time but I prefer the no bake variety. Yeh I was wondering how it would go with a little sprinkled into some heavy cream. But then, I have to watch my quantities of heavy cream.. big staller for me.

            Re: SF FF jello cheesecake

I just made a Crustless Key Lime Pie that turned out kind of like cheesecake. The aspartame did put a stall on me, though. I'm looking (and I think finding) a jello-alternative b/c I think the basic idea of the recipe is good and could be adapted to flavors other than lime...If interested PM me and I'll give you the details, or see my post called "fold in" wha??? on Food and Cooking Chat

Some people stall out on the aspartame. Besides, a clean induction would only include the approved foods.

                  Re: SF FF jello cheesecake

carmen, I started my Induction before I read everything I should have from the DANDR. Typical me, hit the ground running and solve problems as I go.

The sugar free jello with the aspartame definitely, definitely, put a stall on me.

For me, getting started and continuing in the face of mistakes, bad choices, and setbacks is the most important. Not sure I would have chosen the jello thing if I had it to do over, armed with the experiential knowledge I have now.

But I'm not starting over, I'm just going forward...good luck in your journey.

                    Re: SF FF jello cheesecake

well I figured I'd answer the question being as I'm not on induction. I'd probably mix it with cream cheese and make a no bake cheesecake.

Prior to LC I made a killer white choc. cheese cake using chips but I can't do that anymore so once or twice I've made it with the SF white chocolate jello mix. It tastes the same. *Yum* heh

                      Re: SF FF jello cheesecake

i usually make it with heavy cream and use a hand mixer to whip it up like a mousse.

Top it with some whipped cream. It's not bad at all.

I'm lucky, artificial sweeteners don't bother me a bit. Plus you can't eat much of it at one sitting, all that cream it just too rich.
