  • Inulin

    Hi, Everybody!!!
I have a bottle of Inulin -- but no ideas as to how best use it!!
Can anyone tell me how they use it in recipes, especially baking, or just anything about it that might tip me off as to its properties and how it affects texture, taste, etc?
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Re: Inulin

I use inulin for its medicinal purposes. It's a pre-biotic, that is, it acts as fertilizer for the good bacteria in your gut.

It does have some crystalization properties like sugar and I used it once to "flour" a pan when I baked a low carb cake-like thing.

      Re: Inulin

In my experience, it can be used it just about anything! I've mixed it in lemonade, coffee, chili, ricotta cheese, and mock danish recipes. The site also has a recipe for muffin in a minute made out of flax, and inulin mixes into those well!

I'm all about prebiotics and probiotics! I've never had too many gastro problems, but we are working on fixing up my fiancee's insides.
