  • Need help with substitution

    OK, I found a recipe for a Japanese dish called Okonomiyaki which I had totally forgotten about, I love this dish! Now I really want to make it but it contains 2 cups of flour and the sauce would not be acceptable either, anyone out there good at substituting that can help me out here?

    you could use the flax pancakes recipe for it or there is a creps recipe in the database it would work with.

    Your bake mix has a levening agent in it so they will rise a bit if you don't mind that texture or you could use an umflavored protein powder but they would be a bit dry in texture and spongy using that.

      OK, I searched for the crepe recipe but all it is is eggs, the recipe already has eggs so it would just end up being like a giant pan of scrambled egg w/ toppings in it.

      I like flax but I don't want that flax taste in this dish, I think it would ruin it.

      I've never tried protein powder..hmm, wonder how 'dry" it would make it?
