Can you use Atkins Baking mix in the same way and in the same recipes as Bisquick?

Yes, if you cut in some shortening, lard or butter first. Mix the "flour" with some shortening (pick an organic one with no trans fats or hydrogenated oils) until it is fine and crumbly and just barely holds together when you squeeze a ball in your hand. Bisquick mix has already done this step.

Sorry I don't have exact amounts; I just go by consistency. If you get "cookie crumbs" or a "cat litter" consistency, you've added more shortening than Bisquick does. Which is really just fine if you are baking biscuits, scones or cookies.

Thanks for the reply. I've looked up Bisquick recipes to try to adapt some myself but maybe others would like to give it a try. There is also a recipe for Bisquick from scratch which should help out on the amount of shortening to be used.
