To make things easier. Take a litre bottle and mark off the 225ml mark. The american one cup is just a tad bit bigger. Measure down to 112.5 or half way and you have our 1/2 cup measure and half of that will be our 1/4 cup measure. The other measure we use in cooking is the 1/3 cup and that is around 80ml.
This home made measuring cup marked with a permenant marker will come in useful when you want to try the american recipes on this Board. ::P
PS. In France I can sometimes find the american measuring cups and spoons in kitchen speciality shops and sometimes just in the larger grocery stores.Comment
