I love BK but have not had any fast food since starting Atkins. The other website listed in the article, www.haveityourway.com, has a nutritional guide that allows you to subtract the items from products like, minus the sesame seed bun, or ketchup for example. Good stuff.

Thanks for the article!!!! I guess enough people are asking!!! Some Burger Kings I go to, they are pretty ok when I ask for a burger with no buns and the usuall DO put them in a salad bowl and give me a fork and knife.

But some burger kings I have gone too, the people are real ignorant, makes faces and think you are totally weird. That is why I have stopped going to Burger King.

But usually when I go to a restaurant, I'll order a 3/4 burger without buns (add cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms and bacon), and ask them to substitute a salad instead of fries and Most restaurants are very accomodating to this!!

I had a double whopper with cheese and bacon, no ketchup or bun, but extra mayo. I am so happy. BK will be getting more of my business.

They didn't have the combos yet. These burgers gave me a 3lb weight loss. High fat low carb.

I had burger king for lunch today- double whopper with cheese in a bowl...it comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. They give you mayo and ketchup in packets seperatly...I was pleasantly surprised, it was very good...I got it with no tomato or onion and put mayo on it. Yummy!!!
I'm going to do it this time!

the bunless burger is not on the drive-thru menu yet and there are no window displays, so you have to ask for it and the GIRL i ordered it through had NO idea what I was talking about when I asked for the Atkins double whopper with no buns. She was totally clueless.

It was so frustrating trying to put in the order through the drive through and she got so frustrated with my order that a manager came and took the order who knew what it was. But they had No idea when the combo would be coming.

I've tried the bunless Whopper also. I like it but it is not easy for us on the go to eat it with a fork and knife.

Am I missing somthing? Don't fast food burgers have bread 'filler' in them. Surely you can't have that on Atkins? I would have thought that you can only have pure meat. On the Induction period,I mean.

Nope, most fast food chains are 100% pure beef, no fillers.

If fast food chains's burgers have no fillers then how come their burgers are so irrisistably tasty??? They must have something 'illegal' in them? Is it the spices they use? My home made burgers never taste so good. Anyone know the secret?

Well real beef certainly tastes better than fillers, so that idea is right out .

There could be lots of reasons, how do you cook your home burgers? I know I can personally easily make a burger at home that is better than anything you get at a fast food joint... and the seasonings there usually amount to nothing more than your standard seasoning salt.
