  • Subway-Atkins Wraps-Induction?

I've read posts from people that say the new Subway wraps are not induction-safe. But as long as you stay under 20 carbs per day, why would they be unsafe? Sometimes I only eat 8 or 10 carbs the entire day!! I just started Jan. 5 and have lost 4 pounds (I only need to lose 20).

    !

Well...sorry, but no wraps on Induction even if you're still below carb allowance. You carb allowance should be made up of the veggies and cheeses recommended for induction. And the wraps contain flour, which is not allowed even though it is below the carb count. You want to make your body change into a fat burning, stable blood-sugar machine, and items not on the list will kinda defeat the purpose.
But take heart, I hear they are ok on the later phases. Try doing a clean induction, and enjoy them later on.
    Good luck!

good answer marigold. just to add: many people make the mistake of "just staying under 20 carbs" that is a fatal mistake on this WOE, it is not just staying under 20 carbs, it is eating only what is on the list of acceptable foods, perios end of story. And in this case "wraps" are not on the acceptable food list

Hey, I was in Subway yesterday (actually picked up one of the Chicken Bacon Ranch wraps, wow, _very_ tasty), and I noticed something that the induction minded might like. They offer an option to turn any 6" sub into a salad, I think it is a flat price at 3.99. So just pick a sub with contents that are induction legal, turn it into a salad, and you are good to go (and pick a dressing that doesn't contain undue carbs/sugars, I'd assume they could use the Ranch sauce they use in the wrap, but who knows). If your subway is anything like mine they will ask you for every single little thing you want in it, so just veto any carrots or other carby veggies, and you are good to go.

BTW, for the low-carb wraps you are not limited to the turkey thing and the chicken thing, you can do any 6" sub as a wrap for .50 over the price of the sub (which is a crock since the wrap has less filling in it, but hey, we low-carbers are used to getting fleeced in the prices of low-carb products by now).

thanks for posting that. I will try another sub and substitute the wrap for an extra .50 cent!!

it'll be well worth it cuz the wrap sandwich itself is $5 bucks (it's very goood, but so small) whereas the other subs are just $3.99 plus .50 cent and you'll get a larger sandwich that'll fill you up.

BTW, I went to Blimpie's today and had their roasted deli combo. It is VERY filling and VERY delicious. It is 8 carbs for the sandwich and 8 carbs for their chips and they have a cranberry/grapefruit drink that has 0 carbs that is actually very good.

The price for the combo was the same price as the SuB wrap alone. Even though I could of had the chips, I'd rather spend my 8 carbs on another sandwich than on just a bag of chips. BUT all in all, it was very good for the price!!!
