  • Carb Accidents

No, not car accidents, carb accidents. I am wondering about what would
happen to someone on Atkins Induction if they were to eat a meal that
is higher in carbs than they anticipate.

We ate out for the first time on atkins. I had Roast Beef with
Broccoli and side salad. I asked for Au Jus instead of the gravy.

I assumed that the Au Jus was mostly protein fat and salt.

Anyways, I don't think I blew my carb limit, but would I notice
    anything if I did?

Well, I don't know if my reaction was that of other 'low-carber's' or not, but I notice when I over-indulge with the carbs, my stomach goes crazy!!! It makes sounds like it's possessed....growling, bubbling and groaning.

I've learned that eating over my carb limit at lunch makes for a noisy afternoon here at my very quiet office!! :speechle:

I think "Carb Accidents" happen to many of us, especially at restaurants. Don't worry about them. Just go on and learn from it.

I've gotten sick after every carb accident (and carb intentional too!) I feel hungover--headache, mostly. I also have had bouts of intnese grumpiness when I have eaten carbs.

My Wife is doing Atkins with me. She ate a taco salad lasst night at that restaurant. She asked the waitress about some of the ingredients, and they seemed okay.

Today she feels like she did on day 2 of Induction. Joint aches and lethargy.

I think that we both went over our 20.

This sucks. I feel like I have to start over again.

I felt like crap any time i've cheated. Tummy grumbles, headaches, and i'm really grumpy. I advise everyone to stay as close to 20 as possible. If you find yourself thinking "just one wont hurt" believe me, one will turn into 2, and before you know it you have to start all over, induction "flu" and all. Due a clean induction and you won't have to worry about if you did anything wrong.
