  • Wendy's Combos

I work and go to night school, so I often have to eat on the run. It's been nice that most restaurants don't look at me funny when I order a sandwich sans bun any more. But until today, I haven't been able to order a combo. I just found out that Wendy's will gladly substitue a side salad instead of french fries with any combo! I had a bacon cheeseburger, salad with ranch and a diet coke. It was great!

isnt it wonderful when people help out. i love going to wendys because i get there grilled chicken sandwhich with no bread and no honey mustard on it and a side salad with lemons. they never complain and i dont get that what the heck are you talking about look that most people give you. i agree wendys is so wonderfull :righton

That's nice I love to get the double classic with bacon and just toss the bun. The Caesar side salad makes it a great combo, but I haven't asked my local Wendy's if they do bottled water, does yours?

I usually just order the burger as it normally comes and remove the bun myself, found it is easier to deal with than explaining and going through the no-bun hassle Glad your place does it hassle free though.

It's great to know that Wendy's will substitute a side salad for fries! But as far as the burgers go, those of you who are ordering and tossing your own bun are slowing the process of getting the word out that people WANT a low-carb option. Tell them "no bun" next time and just expect the funny looks for a while...they'll catch on and eventually will offer a bunless alternative...you watch!

I usually order my burger "no bun" because if you get one with cheese on top, it's usually melted & stuck into the bun.. and i hate tossing away some of my carb-free protien.

I order it with tomato and toss the tomato along WITH the bun......it somewhat keeps the bun seperated from the cheese

i used to work at wendys, and we never used to question bunless orders. we simply would make the sandwich in a baked potato boat, or a small side salad container. before i left that job, i noticed a poster recognizing low-carb diets and have standards for making bunless sandwhiches which include putting the pattys in a salad container and putting condiments on in a certian order for better presentation or something. thats the scoop, and i believe this is a nationwide rather than franchise thing. wendys is good though...a bit pricey, but still delcious
