  • Ben & Jerry's Low Carb Ice Cream

I was at the local food court for lunch today and noticed that the Ben & Jerry's now has low carb ice cream. They had two flavors: chocolate - 9 carbs and swiss almond mocha - 13(?). That's too many carbs for me, but would love to hear how it tastes. I sure was tempted!

Our local Ben and Jerry's has low carb blueberry flavor. It was very good. I'm glad it was available for a treat.

I was just bopping around the Ben and Jerry's website and the actual net carb count IF you subtract the sugar alcohols and the fiber is 2 net carbs for the Vanilla Swiss Almond, 4 net carbs for the chocolate, and 5 net carbs for the Half Baked. They also have a No Sugar added line:
New York Super Chunk for 5 net carbs, and Strawberry for 5 net carbs.

I had the vanilla swiss almond and did not care for it at all. My two favorite low carb ice cram treats are skinny cow low carb vanilla caramel bar and the klondike that is vanilla covered in chocolate.

I tried 1/2 cup of the chocolate, gained three pounds, and it took weeks to get it back down.

I was going to try the Half Baked once I reach the dairy rung of OWL. But, Elleth, after your experience, I think I will hold off... Thanks for the info!!!

I tried the half baked. Too nutty for me. I didn't like the taste. The Atkins ice cream was much creamier and smoother.

I wasn't a big fan of the Ben and Jerry's, I could barely eat two spoon fulls without wanting to gag. The Klondike chocolate dipped bars are much better!

I personally prefer Blue Bunny Carb Freedom bars with almonds. Sooo good and made with Splenda, with, I believe its 2 net carbs? Can't remember haven't had one in a while.

:icondance I'll second that motion on the Carb Freedom almond bars. Found them while we were on vacation and bought them as our one and only treat. Two net carbs and they are MUCH better than anything I remember that was full-carb regular. I have one a week with no guilt whatsoever!

I just tried the Half Baked this weekend. It was alright, nothing to rave about. I prolly won't try it again though.

                            I like Breyer's Chocloate.
