  • Subway's new salads

I love subway's new Atkins-friendly salads, especially the spinach salad. It's made with chicken, a few cherry tomatoes, crumbled hard-boiled egg and bacon, and whatever other veggies you put on it, with Atkins honey-mustard dressing. Because it's made with spinach, it has a lot more nutrients than their regular salads, and tastes better too. With some added cucumbers, hot peppers, and olives it didn't even need the salad dressing it was so tasty.

Unlike the wraps, it's even okay for induction, if you don't overdo it on the vegetable portions. Be careful though - when I ordered it the server automatically reached for the carrots before I told him I didn't want them on it.

Did you try the honey mustard dressing.....if so was it any good. I use to LOVE honey mustard on my salads, but settle for the ranch these days.

It's a bit fake tasting, but it's decent. I don't know if I would put it on a regular green salad, but if there are other strong flavors in the salad to balance it, it's yummy.

          Watch out for the dressing

I went to Subway yesterday to have the Spinach salad for the first time. The server poured their honey mustard dressing from their assortment id dressings on to my salad. I immediately questioned her if it was the ATKINS version of the dressing and she kept repeating that it was. I just didn't seem right to me that the customer behind me had a Turkey Honey Mustard Sandwich and the same dressing was used. I questioned her again. She told me it was "Fat Free". I kept repeating that I didn't want fat free that I wanted ATKINS. She finally told me that they ran out yesterday but that their regular dressing was also fat free. I gave up trying to explain the difference to her. My salad was ruined. I walked out of there furious. Make sure that what they are using is what you are asking for. The server do not seem to know the difference.

yeah i get nervous abotu dressings cause sometimes I think people who see you are dieting might throw in a fat free not knowing - I eat at alot of the same rest. and kinda know the servers and make a point of saying regular ranch because they know I am eating healthy and such. Good job pushing him - can't trust anyone but yourslef honestly.

The Atkins honey mustand dressing comes in a packet. If you give you it from a bottle, they're giving you the wrong thing.

There does seem to be a definite learing curve for the severs though. The first time I bought one the server would have put carrots and regular dressing on it if I hadn't stopped him. Now, they know exactly what goes on it and what doesn't.

They've also added Feta cheese to their selections! Yum!

                Salads

I have been adicted to Subway since the intorduction of the wraps at the beginning of the year. Now with the Salads, I am returning to two weeks of induction. I enjoy the club... the spinch one doesn't look like there's enough meat for my taste. I wish more resturants would follow suit.
