    MC D'S

A GREAT FEATURE ON THE MCD'S WEBSITE IS THE ABILITY TO CUSTOMIZE THE MEAL. FOR INSTANCE YOU CAN GET THE NUTRITION VALUE OF A GRILLED CHICKEN FLATBREAD AFTER YOU TAKE OFF THE BREAD AND SAUCE. FYI IT GOES FROM 54 CARBS TO 5!!!

          More Fast Food

Hi all...I am including the Carl's Jr. Link which is awesome-it's interactive so you can build your meal while adding and subtracting ingredients:http://www.carlsjr.com/home/ and the address for Jack in the Box...of which I eat a lot also. No wonder I am so carb addicted a normal meal for me at JIB was WELL OVER 200 carbs...in one meal!!! If I can cut them out then so can you!!! McDonald's is nice since you can customize, but be careful - I did this and was reading the last number for carbs. That is the percentage of your daily allowance! The carb count is actually above that last line. I was so excited when I THOUGHT a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit was only 10 carbs...it is actually 31 and 10% of your daily alottment :-(

I love the new salads at Sonic Drive-in (of course, these aren't just everywhere). They grill the chicken (that goes in the salad) when you order it.

                Here's the nutri info:

I get most of my fast food info from:
an up-to-date searchable database of nutritional information on Fast Food Restaurant menu items. Over 2,600 items in the database from 27 restaurants.

                Great forum!

Has anyone found anything at these places that are really low carb, even if it needs to be adjusted? Anything good for induction? My family eats out a lot and I'd love to suggest some restaurants I can eat at too.

We just got back from a 2 week vacation, eating out 3 meals a day, and I came away with 5 lbs gone!

The restaurants I found best were steak houses (have steak and salad, ask for dressing or mayo on the side), Golden Corral - GREAT buffet, lots of steamed veggies, fresh salad ingredients, rotisserie chicken, grilled steak, all you can eat! - and, believe it or not, McDonald's. I'd have their chicken ceasar salad with the grilled chicken, threw away the croutons, brought my own dressing (mayo). I believe Arby's also has some new salads that look good - you just have to watch for carrots and limit tomatoes accordingly.

Every single restaurant we ate at - even some real "mom and pop" places (vs national chain), were willing to work with me by substituting salad or veg for potatoes, and not bringing rolls to the table.

I always had my "allowable foods" list with me, and my carb count book, so I was sure what I could and could not eat!

                          That's great! Thanks.

I just went to McDonalds for the first time since this WOE began in April. I was out of town and did well eating out at Steak Houses also. I did prepare a lot of my own foods, but didn't have time to prepare for todays lunch.

I got a double Quarter Pounder and threw out the bun and had a side salad. I used about 1/8 the package of dressing (if that) because there were 4 carbs of corn syrup and I cut it to 1/2 a carb.

I tried to scrape off the ketchup because I forgot about that too.

Does anyone know if there are hidden carbs in McD's meat?

                          I always wonder.
