  • KFC Roast Chicken

Saw a TV ad for KFC roast chicken. Has anyone tried it? Looks like they are finally addressing the low carb issue.

I have not tried it, but I did see a sign in the window for oven roasted chicken strips. I'm going to check out their website. I'll check back if I find any info

I don't think they had the nutritional info up on the KFC site yet but I asked the girl at our local KFC and she said it was still floured...just done in the oven instead of fried. I would be careful with this.

Yes, it is coated in flour. :yikes Oh well, it was a good thought while it lasted. I will stick to my roast chicken at home...

I called the KFC Customer support number. The lady I spoke with did not have the information but she put in my request. They just sent me an email with the nutritional info. There are 9 grams of net carbs per serving (3 strips). (10 grams of carbs, 1 gram of dietary fiber). Hope that helps.

They were bloody awful. I don't know why KFC can't just season their chicken w/o flour and still pressure-fry it.

I've done that at home (fried, not pressure-fried) and it's worked out well.

I went to KFC for lunch a few days ago, wanted to try the roasted strips. I asked the ding dong at the counter if they had any breading or flour on them and she said no, just herbs. So I tried them out, they were okay, but nothing great. Probably would have been better if they were fresh. I should have known they weren't really geared toward low carb when my meal came with a biscuit and margerine. I tossed the biscuit to my boyfriend and skipped the wonderful margarine on my green beans.
