  • Low Carb Pizza?

Any body know of any pizza places that have come out with low carb pizza? That would be awesome. Why can't pizza hut or dominos get on that? I mean come on! If they can make low carb beer............

I've heard of a few places that advertise a "lower carb" pizza, but essentially it's just a thin crust pizza.

The trouble with a lot of the low-carb food out there is that it's frankenfood....it may be low carb, but it's also full of chemicals and doesn't have much nutritional value. It's fine to eat out, but try to make sure that your food is as whole and natural as possible...

Making a low-carb pizza that is actually low-carb and has the right flavor/texture is remarkably tough. I know several of us who cook a lot have been working on it for quite some time and still haven't nailed the formula exactly.

for a heads up, just thought I'd say I got an ad for dominoes in the mail today. they have a new CarbCruncher thin crust pizza. however, the ad did not impress me. It's a medium 2 topping pizza and one slice (1/8 of pizza) is 8.5g.. as much as I love pizza, that meal could turn high carb very quickly... I don't know if this link is right, but : http://www.dominos.com/C1256B420054F...QR93351DENNEN#
Sorry everyone. I've had to abandon Atkins. After slipping up, I gained back everything and more. I fully believe in and support Atkins, I know it works, but it's too hard for me. I'm following my own plan now, exercising more, eating less in general and healthier, still focusing more on veggies and fruits and whole grains and much less processed junk and bad carbs. I still visit here occasionally, so I will keep my stats listed here when I do. I wish everyone the best on this program or any others that work for you.

I actually started this thread with fast food places in mind, but since none of them seem to make a true low-carb pizza I had to wing it. I got some low carb tortillas from Trader Joes - they are like 3 or 4 carbs each, some spaghetti sauce that was pretty low, mozzerella cheese and pepperonni and made my own. Pretty easy. Since the tortilla doesn't have to rise or bake, just get crispy it's quick too. Throw it all together then blast it at 400 for about 10 minutes and you're set. The first two I made I put them right on tinfoil and they were soggy. Next ones I put on the oven rack with tinfoil below to cath the drips. The "crust" got much more crispy that way. Hope this helps someone!

Well, if you lived in the upper Midwest, I could direct you to a place that makes true "low-carb pizza" - no crust, no sauce. It's pretty good. I take along 1/4 cup of Ragu pizza sauce (3 carbs) and dip my pieces in.

If you cook yourself, get a round pan, line it with Reynolds Release wrap. Lay mozzarella slices slightly overlapping. Put on your toppings, spices and spoon Ragu over the toppings sparingly. Cover with shredded mozzarella and bake at 425 degrees until the cheese is melted. Let it sit for five minutes before serving. Depending on the carb count in your mozzarella and toppings, this can be very satisfying and VERY low-carb.

Mad Pizza here in Seattle advertises a low carb pizza. I still avoid it though...

Pizza Magia has a low carb pizza, but I haven't ordered it yet for myself. Ranges from 10-14 net carbs for the whole personal sized pizza. Once I try it I will let you know!

There's a place here in Conway that sells a "Skinny Pie," which is essentially all the pizza toppings baked in a pie tin without the crust. It's pretty damn good, though. I got meat lovers, so it had all the good stuff in it.

They started stocking Red Baron - Carb works round pizzas and pizza boats in our grocery store. My boyfriend bought them since he's on Atkins (but only needs to lose 10 more pounds). I tasted it....it was soooo good, the pizza boats especially! Only problem is I wanted more...but didn't have anymore =)

Here is a picture of what it looks like. Both the round pizzas and pizza boats have 13 net carbs....so this is only good for the later stages of Atkins, I would assume.
