I also found an article saying that they added low carb options to their menu but at the applebees website it dosne't say anything about it although they showed weight watches as an option.

You could order a steak or chicken dish and have veggies subbed for the potato/fries, or order one of the entree salads, hold the croutons, go light on the dressing in case it has a carb content (Blue Cheese or Ranch should be pretty OK though).

I was there the other night, while they did have a weight watchers menu there was no low carb options to be seen. I ordered the sizzling chicken with veggies, no tortilla. It was pretty good (didnt use the yummy looking sauce) but nothing special that I couldnt make at home, and the serving size is pretty small.... glad I am a atkins girl instead of a weight watchers!!! They lose weight because they are starving! Next time it will be splurging on something yummy from the regular menu and subsitute veggies in.

Thank you everyone for all of your advice. I ended up deciding to skip lunch with the office and went to carls Jr and got their lo carb hamburger. It was pretty good.....considering I left off the onions, tomatoes and ketchup. :hug
          Thanks again!

I really don't know why I keep going to Applebee's. Every time I go I have a not so good experience. Either the food is not very good, the service is horrible, or I have some not so great bathroom experience afterwards. Then there I am, like some amnesia patient, going back there every few months. Duh!

Last time I went there, first time after starting this WOE, I was disappointed with their Atkins friendly choices. They seem to have gone the other way and supported Weight Watchers.

I actually don't mind Applebees. I get a grilled chicken dish (not sure what it's called at the moment), substitute the potatoes with veggies, and get buffalo wing sauce for dipping. It's not too bad. The only problem is Applebees claims they don't have real butter in the kitchen -- only I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray. So I always bring a few pats of butter for my veggies -- makes them more palatable.

PS: Skip the carrots in the veggie medley!

I simply get an order of buffalo wings and a side dinner salad. I find that that order is usually pretty easy to keep low-carb and not too hard for people to mess up

what about riblets? (without the fries and coleslaw of course). I wanted to go with my GF and we're both on atkins.

The BBQ sauce on the riblets is loaded with sugar, so, no, not Atkins friendly at all unfortunately. Applebee's is unfortunately not a great place for LC. Ruby Tuesdays or Fridays are your best bets for chains.

I know this is older thread, but I just fiound it. Applebee's is one of my mainstays for eating out. The Sante Fe Chicken Salad (no tortilla strips, dressing and guacmole on the side) is my personal Applebee's favorite. Another option is the Bleu Cheese Sirloin with grilled vegetables. For $5.99 for the half size SF Chicken Salad, one of the better chain bargains out there IMHO.

Since my last post about Applebee's, I once again went there and fell in love with that Santa Fe Chicken Salad too! It was really good and I did as you and asked for no tortillas. It gave me something to like there!
