  • Coldstone Creamery

Not sure if I should have posted this here or in desserts but...

I am still in induction and and staying away from all triggers but I just have to know if anyone has Atkins tested Coldstone Creamery yet.

Heres what I would get after induction providing it is safe

    ***HELATH NUT***
No Guilt sugar free, fat free Vanilla Ice Cream ( so yummy )
the mixings in the ice cream are
    Bananas
    Almonds
    Penut Butter
( the mixins can be tweaked if needed )

It is soooooo tasty and the Ice Cream is all natural made fresh daily.

It would be so nice to be able to enjoy this when I reach maintenence
( unless someone tells me its ok during induction!!! lol )

    Thanks

    Jenn

    Re: Coldstone Creamery

Hi Jenn, For me ice cream would be a major trigger any time. I'm not an expert here, so please correct me, but on Induction, you can't have that. We can't have nuts, fruit, not sure if or when bananas can be eaten (I haven't checked because I can't stand them), we can't have milk or peanut butter, if I'm correct. Have you searched out the Induction Cookie recipe here? That is really good and has fulfilled any sweet tooth I may get.

Do you have a nutritional list and ingredients for Cold Stone ice cream?

      Re: Coldstone Creamery

Since I'm on Induction, I am careful with this:

Watch for food labeled "sugar free". That does not mean we can have it. Allowed are: Sucralose (Slpenda), saccharin, cyclamate, acesulfame-K

Natural sweeteneers ending in "ose" such as maltose, fructose, etc., should be avoided. But there are certain sugar alcohols such as maltitol do not affect blood sugar and are acceptable.

Saccharin is harmful to us in high doses (it explain this in Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution) This is known as Sweet 'N Low

      Atkin discourages Nutrasweet and Equal.

        Re: Coldstone Creamery

My question is...if there's no sugar and no fat in this ice cream, what the heck IS in it? Does it taste like cardboard? )

Like Babs said, I'm sure there are still lots carbs in the ice cream, even if they aren't sugars (such as thickeners, fillers, etc.)

This sounds like a treat to be enjoyed wayyyyyyyyyyyy at the end of OWL or LM if at all. I don't know about those bananas either, if/when those are acceptable.

If you go to their website, it is no sugar added. That does NOT mean it's sugar free, or carbohydrate free. It also has sugar alcohols in it, so be sure to watch how your body reacts when you eat it.

            Re: Coldstone Creamery

            yeah.........

Definatly saving this for WWWWAAAYYYY later on! ( if I am even interested by then! )

I actually tested out the Pumpkin Cheasecake Custard over on the dessert board last night and everyone LOVED IT...it was VERY GOOD

I figure I will make 1 serving for myself and stash it in the fridge for our halloween party on saturday incase I feel myself slipping around all the sweets and desserts

I plan to make it for Thanksgiving as well, I am going to put out cinnamon sugar grahm crackers and cool whip or something for everyone else so it goes further ( I will keep mine seperate in the fridge...dont want any crumbs setting me back! )

Cricket, it's great that you are planning! Cream cheese treats were my salvation during the first month on the plan. Rich/fatty treats kept me from falling off the wagon. As time has passed, its very rare that I eat them anymore.

Also keep in mind that they use Skippy or some such for peanut butter - it's not the all-natural, no sugar kind. I'd stick to nuts and avoid the peanut better. Plus, banana's are just bad news.. Berries are a better choice, though I'm sure they are swimming in sugar-solution. I will probably have to avoid ColdStone for life I'm afraid. Bad...
