I have a Chinese restaurant around the corner from me where I went to get something today because I was craving it. They were nice enough to make my food without cornstarch or sugar upon request. That was nice. I know I gotta watch for the other stuff in the regular sauces, but it's much better!

thats great Higgies! I have a couple local places that have a "diet" menu where they dont have any heavy sauces. cook only with ginger, garlic, white wine, onion. Its not the same but its still very good!Female, 30

Yeah, I thought to ask as they had a diet menu that said no corn starch, sugar, or salt. So I asked if anything could be made with no corn starch or sugar and they said it depended, but just to ask. So it was very nice they were willing to accomodate (also you know your food was made fresh instead of prepared ahead of time). It was actually very good. I got a simple dish, Chicken & Broccoli, so I'm sure it wasn't much trouble.Higgies
