  • Chick fil a

The nutritional info passed out by chick fil a says that their original chicken sandwich has 30g carbs but with out the bread and the pickle the stats for just the original chicken breast alone is 1g carb 0g sugar.

I know it has a little breading on it but is there any reason why this should not be eaten or does not fit in the Atkins way considering the nutritional info they provide?

    Thanks.

    Hi, MINI --

My husband and I enjoy Chick-fil-a fairly frequently since we started Atkins two months ago. According to their website nutritional information (which is amazingly thorough - go, chick-fil-a!) the original chicken breast without bun is 10g carbs, but the chargrilled chicken breast is only 1g. Both seem fine for Atkins; the original is high for induction (which I'll be on for a long time to come). Their chargrilled chicken salad is wonderful, btw, and a really nice way to get your appropriate veggies in. And they serve Cardini's cesar dressing -- also only 1 carb for a very sufficient packet. The Buttermilk Ranch is yummy, as well, at 2 carbs for a packet. Hope that helps.

Thanks for replying. I checked the website and you are right... 10g of carbs for just the original chicken breast with no bun. The printed nutritional info I got from them on my last visit says 1g carb for the original, as does a calorie/carb counting book my coworker has. 10g sounds more believeable than 1g. Good to know the real count. Still not too bad as far as fast food goes, I guess.
