Jason's Deli

Jason's Deli just opened in Altamonte Springs, Fl and I have been going for a couple weeks. When you order one of their great sandwichs, without bread, chips, and pickle they don't look at you like you have two heads, just fill your order. They have a great salad bar. Great staff, very clean and very good food.

Broccoli-Cheese Soup

I have a recipe that purports to be the one from Jason's Deli for Broccoli-Cheese Soup. Yum, but it uses cornstarch for a thickener and some milk along with the cream. Might not be a good idea.

I have been searching for the Jason's Deli recipe for their Broccoli-cheese Soup. Could you share the recipe with me?

Several of the local Jason's have some signs up in store about low carb options. They leave me puzzled.

It states that a no-bread Beefeater (roastbeef, melted swiss, au jus, 2 pickle slices) is 11 carbs. Not sure how, unless the pickles are very heavy in sugar, which they don't taste like.

They also boast that several of their soups are < 25 (!) carbs each. But the list includes the chicken & sausage gumbo (thickened w/ roux and served with rice), but not the seemingly safer broccoli cheese.

So I'm just not sure.

But the salad bar is good.
