  • Romano's Macaroni Grill

    Hi All! :wave
I have a new favorite! For those of you who have friends who want to eat Italian, have no fear! Romano's Macaroni Grill has 2 or 3 dishes that are very low in carbs.

I usually have the grilled salmon w/ grilled asparagus. I just LOVE a restaurant that SEASONS their food. So flavorful.

They also have a grilled chicken dish w/ a Mediterranean salad (cucumbers, arugula, tomatoes, feta) and a jumbo grilled shrimp dish w/ the same Mediterranean salad.

It's a nice place to go if your company wants Italian and you can stand being around the complimentary bread :nod Luckily I've been able to refrain! :yes

www.macaronigrill.com - the restaurant is in all US states except for MT, WY, ND, SD, WV, VT, and NH

I love this place too. I went there today and got the Insalata Rossa, which has fresh slices of strawberries, spinach, arugula, red onions and radicchio topped with grilled chicken breast, fat free feta (I know, it's unfortunate that it's fat free) and drizzled with strawberry balsamic dressing.

12 grams of carbs in that salad without the dressing, a great option for those on the berries rung of OWL or futher. DEFINITELY get the dressing on the side, it adds 16 carbs to the salad (but it is quite tasty).

Yum yum yum! And the salad is huge, so I didn't even finish my salad -- means I didn't eat as many carbs/calories, and I get to enjoy more of it tomorrow!

That's funny that we both went there today. Grilled chicken with brocolli and butter sounds great, I'll try that next time I go!

I'm on this kick where I am trying to make sure I post here about every restaurant I go to, especially if it's a chain!

That's so funny, I was driving home past a Macaroni Grill tonight and thought I should look over the menu for another eating out option. Thanks for all the info, guys!

                Re: Romano's Macaroni Grill

They changed their menu a bit -- no more Insalata Rosa, but they have Insalta Blu which has blue cheese, walnuts, onions, etc (not sure what all is on there).

They also have a steak and argula (sp?) salad that has 6 carbs according to their menu.

And they offer whole-wheat pasta, available for substition on any pasta dish, for you OWL/pre/maint people.
