I sometimes like to eat McDonald's burgers when I go out (without the bun). I was wondering if they are 100 % beef or if they are Atkins friendly? It seems that when I eat them my weight gets stalled.

Re: McDonald's burgers
The Mc D site says they are 100% beef. Just gotta be mindful of the small extra carbs from the ketchup, cheese, onions etc. That's added on there. It's about 2 carbs or so per cheeseburger.
Burger 0 carbs
Cheese 1 carb
Ketchup 2 carb (I would wipe the ketchup off or tell them to hold)
Onion 1 carb
Pickles 0 carb

Re: McDonald's burgers
There is no doubt about that McDonald's burgers contain 100% beef. If you check out the ingredients list on their website you will know that all of their hamburgers are made from 100% beef patties. Further more they define beef patty as being 100%pure USDA inspected beef, no additives, no fillers. no extenders...

Re: McDonald's burgers
Mickey D's is one of my favorite lunches (when I don't have time to make one before I leave)...
I order 2 double cheeseburgers (no catsup, no bun) and they place them in little salad containers on a bed of lettuce.
I also went to Burger King last week and ordered a double whopper and asked them for no tomato & catsup...then I asked...by chance could I have it with no bun, and the girl said, "Oh sure, would you like it low-carb?" I said yes. It came the same way, on a bed of lettuce, no bun, no catsup.
It's great that more places are realizing that there are low-carb eaters out there!!!Sherry ~33, Michigan ~ Married w/ 3 kids

Re: McDonald's burgers
I *just* did this yesterday and I figured it was so busy (Las Vegas Airport) it'd be too hard for them to do, so I tossed the bun. Hated doing it though, so wasteful!Originally posted by sher801 View PostMickey D's is one of my favorite lunches (when I don't have time to make one before I leave)...

Re: McDonald's burgers
McDonald's double cheeseburgers without a bun and no condiments and with a salad continue to be a "go to" meal when I'm in a pinch and need to eat something when I'm on the road.

Re: McDonald's burgers
I have to eat out occasionally because I ate out so often before -- it's a nice change of pace. I order a Quarter Pounder (no cheese, no bun, I ask for mayo on it only) and a side salad. There are only 3 pieces of carrot so it's easy to pull those out and I take a small container of my Ranch dressing in the portion I eat...I dip my salad into the dressing instead of putting it on top so I have lots of dressing on each bite. I also dunk the meat in the dressing for an extra yum!! It's my big splurge once in awhileCarole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

Mm, I order the double cheese burger, no bun, mayo only but I can't deny myself those little onions! I do ask for light on the onions though. Its a great little meal for ONE DOLLAR!The way to gain a good reputation, is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear. - Socrates
