  • Chipotle!

The most recent Chipotle thread I could find was from almost a year ago, so I thought I'd mention them!

Chipotle is a great place for Low Carbers... get the salad with whichever meat you desire. For another buck or two, they can double the meat for you. The chicken is delicious, the steak is juicy, and I have to admit that I have never ordered the cartitas (shredded pork) or the barbacoa (shredded beef). Always ask for the onions and peppers- they are awesome and low carb! I get cheese, at least two different salsas (the hottest one is very satisfying and healthy- TRY IT!), and sometimes guacamole. They charge more for the guac, of course. Sour cream is also offered, and is low carb.

It gets pricey- between $7-$10 for the whole salad. But it is fun, the ingredients are healthier than most of the competition, and it's a great place to go with non-low-carbers! Just watch out for those beans and rice!!!

    Re: Chipotle!

I would highly recommend you check out their nutritional information with regard to the salsas and a couple of the meat choices. It is my understanding that the barbacoa might have a few added ingredients in the cooking process that might stall you.

The guacamole also has 8g of carbs in a single serving, so if you are induction, I would skip it.

so really that salad adds up to about 10-15ish carbs total..depending on how many salsas and the guac.. that sucks! cuz i love chipotle and qdoba!! lol

It sounds like you really have to be careful in ordering but its totally feasible, especially if you want to devote a nice number of carbs to that meal. I know I have days when I find that I have a good chunk of carbs left at dinner time. Since my partner is doing a different diet right now, we have to pick places that are good for both kinds of diets - she is doing Weight Watchers. Chipotle is a great option for us.

What's in the barbacoa? I always get that.
