Does in know about the Queensland Salad from Outback. It's my absolute favorite!!!!!!!! I get it without the croutons and tomatoes with ranch dressing. Do you think this is ok for induction or not. Thanks for the help!

The outback site lists toasted almonds in it as well, you would want those to be held off on induction. Also be careful of Outback's ranch dressing, often times ranch dressings can have surprisingly high carb contents.

If they offer oil and vinegar or a caesar dressing those are often safer choices.

Thanks Nullo...I do get it without the almonds I forget to list that one. Yea I was wondering about the dressing-Problem is I really don't like the others. I wish that all restaurants would post their nutritional info on the web sites that would make things so much easier.

TGI Fridays has a great Atkins Approved low carb menu:

I have had the spinach dip with veggies, garlic chicken and the chargrilled salmon. The were all great, especially the spinach dip! My boyfriend liked it too, although he was more than willing to order a side of tortilla chips and leave all the veggies for me!

My waiter at TGI Fridays told me that Applebees is going to be rolling out their low carb menu by the end of this month... We'll just have to wait and see.

Hey Suzanne, I hate to tell you this but French Onion soup is made with Molasses. It's not generally a low carb food. Which stinks because it's a favorite of mine.

French Onion soup is _not_ traditionally made with Molasses, if you have particular info about the friday's soup, then I would like to hear that.

In general however, it does contain flour or a starch as a thickening agent, so, it is just as well that you would avoid it.

Ok, here's my question, what about Tangy Tomato dressing at Outback? I don't like ranch, italian or anything like that. I am strictly a honey mustard and french type dressing girl all the way. This makes it very hard for me to find a dressing.

So does anyone know how bad tangy tomato is during induction? I haven't done it, but I am curious as to how bad it is for induction and then into OWL.

Tomatoes have a high carb content, and it most likely has a lot of sugar in it, so, I would stay away.

Ranch at restaurants is often dangerous too. Oil and Vinegar is really your only 100% safe bet when eating out.

I see a lot of people eating the veggies at Outback. Check with your server and make sure that they do not use a seasoning with brown sugar as many of the Outbacks do. It may not taste like they have sugar on them, but they do. Most will steam them without it, if you ask.
And the French Onion soup at Friday's does not have sugar, molasses or flour in it. Ask for it without bread and don;t eat all of the onions are the carbs can add up quickly.

I understand that TGIF now has an Atkins approved menu, and I have heard the food is very good. I have not tried it as there is not TGIF near me.
Ruby Tuesdays, has new low carb menu but look at all the carbs etc. Also if you are on induction, none of the wraps would be acceptable for you.

Applebees will work with you. They have good salads and I like the stir fry, ask for all veggies, and no rice. Also don't use the sauce they bring with it as is loaded with sugar carbs.
