  • Turkey salad

I just went to Subway and had them make a turkey, bacon and ranch salad. It was great! I added some pickles for a sour taste, and it made the salad. I've never eaten Subway on Atkins before, but I think it may become a favorite!

I LOVE Subway! While the smell of bread baking in their little ovens does a number on my senses, I can have my favorite sandwich as a salad anytime I want. I always take my own dressing (favorite is Kraft Lo-Carb Italian Lite - 0 carbs and 20 calories per TBL) and have them leave off the croutons and almonds. Be careful, though, if you're in your first two weeks of induction. There are a lot of salad add-on goodies that are no-nos!

I'm trying hard to think of anything in their salad bar is unsafe for induction, and I'm not coming up with anything.

The lettuce and spinach are both safe, so are the pickles, the peppers (all of them), the cucumbers, the tomatoes, the onions, the olives, the cheese, the bacon, and the crumbled egg. Really, the only unsafe things are some of the dressings and the garlic-almonds.

Sorry Pau, yes I know what croutons are. I was asking if they put croutons on their salads, it was the only thing I didn't see listed in Nullo's list that might be non atkins
