  • Macaroni Grill?? Going tomorrow Night 2/12

    As a girl's night the girls have decided we will be dining at Macaroni Grill. Ive been looking at the menu and possibly believe the crab stuffed mushrooms along with a side salad or the simply salmon with a side salad instead of asparagus. Has anyone been here to know what to order. I am on Owl Rung 1 so any suggestions would be sooo greatly appreciated!!

    Here is a chart with their nutritional info


    According to this the crab stuffed mushrooms are lower in carbs. Is there rice in those?

    I did not see the salmon but ask for it to be grilled without any toping added. Add for any dressing on the side and go for ranch or a simple vinegar or olive. Or just ask for some olive oil tossed over your salad. You can asked for some of that roasted chicken or shrimp (normally served with the pasta) as a side with your salad.

      is the website i was following too or just looked up and the crab stuffed mushrooms said 4. Also we have a simply salmon i found there. Which is 6 carbs and it includes the sides it says. I agree with you about the asparagus about it being low in carb I just cant stomach any asparagus so if i get broccoli and a salad for my sides would that be ok?

      and the salad would be good with olive oil if they have it whcih i am sure they do =)

        I would bet that the crab stuffing would have some sort of binder ... and that would include flour.

        Broccoli and salad would be fine.

          So I ended up going with the girls to Macaroni Grill However I called ahead to see what was in the stuffing, no flour =) They use egg whites with different seasonings ( I tasted Old Bay) shrimp, and lump crab. I also tasted some green onions. The chef said no breadcrumbs or flour is add so its purely just the meat. I also ordered the simply shrimp spedini which is 6 shrimp that has olive oil and cracked black pepper and grilled to perfection served over the roasted veggies. The Website said it was 16 carbs, however the veggies had a couple of potato halves ( red ones) that i pushed off the plate, along with some eggplant ( didn't eat) red and yellow bell peppers, onions, and zucchini. Just cooked with a little olive oil and black pepper as well. I just ate the shrimp with the couple bits of zucchini, onions, and bell peppers. I added it all into fitday program on the computer and was very happy with the outcome =) So Macaroni Grill would be ok to eat if they offer the Mediterranean Grill ( It has Chicken Spedini, Shrimp Spedini, Grill Lamb, and lots of other options. Great dinner too =)

              Yes I used to call ahead to many places to see if they could accompany me and the WOE, when i first start atkins years and years ago. I had remembered me doing this and figured instead of asking the water/waitress after I got there then wait a while for an answer it would be easier to call ahead and ask about the certain menu items and see if they could accompany me. So then if they can't we could go somewhere else. =) Much better than waiting at a restaurant and finding out there is nothing you can eat there !!

                I have ordered their crab stuffed mushrooms and asked for "no extra breadcrumbs" and it's been totally fine.

                I also regularly order their scallop and wilted spinach salad with prosciutto and garlic, which is cooked with lemon and olive oil. I have them cook down the spinach so it's really cooked spinach instead of half raw, which I hate.

                  I ate there two days ago for my birthday.

                  I had:
                  -Mediterranean Olives (yum!)
                  -also the Scallops & Spinach Salad

                  Both were fantastic. Next time I'll try the salmon. Highly recommended!

                    I work part time at the Mac Shack and as a low carb atkins guy trust me, it can be challenging but there are a ton of things you can eat on the menu. The Spiedinis are perfect, just dont eat the 2-3 potatoes they toss in with the veggies, and eggplant isn't horrible for you just depends how many carbs you're wanting to take in. FYI you can order a side chicken breast for only 2.50$ which is a pretty good deal consider it's like 4-6 ounces. Add that to your side green or ceasar salad minus the croutons and you're eating pretty cheap too!

                    Even the chicken scalopine is perfect no cappelini pasta sub spinach or broccoli. Although the chicken is lightly breaded, its not too bad, just watch out, has tons of sodium... but if you're really wanting to treat yourself thats my all time favorite!

                        This thread makes me miss Macaroni Grill--haven't eaten there in over 2 years and it used to be one of my very favorites. Sounds like there are some good low carb choices.

                        Just the SMELL of the focaccia bread would do me in.
