I realized after reading more that the burger without the ketchup and bun is ok. We went to McDonalds with our kids (2 & 3 years old) and I was stuck because it was a smaller McDonalds that doesn't serve salads. Needless to say I was filled up Their salad dressings are low fat, some as many as 12 grams of carbs per packet.
I just played around with the McDonalds site, which allows you to recalculate nutritional information after removing certain items. According to it, a quarter pounder has much less carbs than a double cheeseburger. Even the Big N'Tasty, which has lettuce and tomato, has less carbs than the double cheeseburger.
Apparently the dried onions add 3 grams of carbs to the double cheeseburder! The real chopped onions used on the quarter pounder and Big N'Tasty are much lower in carbs (and tastier too).
Also, their salad dressings with the lowest carb count, the caesar and ranch, still have 4 grams of carb in the packet.
Don't forget 1gm of carbs per slice of cheese for those of you on induction
I switched after finding that out and go to Wendys now and get three of those Junior Bacons with only Mustard, Pickle, Bacon and Cheese and it is about 1gm from all the nutrition facts I have been ablt to find
Thanks for the extra research on that. I just really like the fact that I can feel like I'm eating a "cheeseburger". It isn't any problem at all to toss the bun!
