  • Zaxby's - getting fed up...

    Hello all,

Some of you are familiar with Zaxby's. For those that are not, they are a "chicken joint". If it's chicken, its there. They have a nice selection of wings and other chicken based menu items. And I love their "original" flavored wings (its a mustard and vinegar sauce).

But, and its a big one, they have no nutritial information on their products available. Not at the store and not at the web site. I've called their customer support line and been told:

    1. Look on our web site!
"I did, that's how I have your number, its not there".

    2. The store manager's have that information.
"No, they have a menu with nice pretty pictures of chicken.
    But no information"

    3. Give us you name and address and we'll mail it to you.
"OK" - 1 month later I call back since nothing arrived.

    4. Oh. Sorry about that, give us your email and we'll send it to you.
"OK" - 3 weeks later I call back since nothing but spam arrived.
And we all know SPAM isn't Atkins Compliant or Palatable.

    5. Oh. We do not have those brosures here. I can't help you.
"Your company does have the information?"

    Yes, I'm sure we do.
"Is there anybody that I can speak with?"

Yes, let me transfer you to my Supervisor.
    "Thank you."

    Hello, may I help you?
... explain all of above.... took a while, and its not an 800 number.

Oh, yes we do have such information and I'm sorry that its not
available at our stores. Would you like me to mail you a copy?
Could you give me your name and address?

    !!! ARG !!!!

So, I'm waiting again. If anybody out there knows a way to pry
the nutritional infomation from a company that is THIS obstenant
about NOT giving it out... PLEASE POST!

In the mean time, when it comes to Zaxby's ... WHERE'S THE BEEF?

Your more patient than I would be. That place would be off my list. What if they had something with peanuts in it, and didn't know it. They could kill someone.
Get names, I always make sure when I call about something like that, that I get their name and they know that I have written it down. I get much better service that way.
You can alway write to the CEO and advise that their restaurant has been getting a lot of bad advertisement on the BB that you belong to.

Well, its 3 weeks later and nothing from Zaxby's.

Btw, if you look on their web site under "Health Info", the only thing you get is:

The old site said (thank you www.archive.org )
Zaxby's prides itself on high quality food at affordable prices. As a concept, we do not promote low calorie, low fat meals as a staple to our customers. Instead, we have developed a menu designed around the "cooked to order" philosophy using the highest quality and freshest ingredients available that are compatible within our production environment. Every conscious effort is placed on food safety and sanitation while still providing quick service to our valued customers. In cooperation with state health departments, Zaxby's continually scores high marks on health reports chain-wide. We are committed to all aspects of food safety and welcome input from our customers via comment cards and the Internet.

Zaxby's is not an all-fat restaurant. We fry with 100% soybean oil and cook only white meat chicken, which is inherently lower in fat than dark meat. We offer a variety of grilled sandwiches and an assortment of dinner sized salads. With the exception of wings, all of our chicken is boneless and skinless.
      The new site says:
You can still eat right at Zaxby's. Even if you nibble on more than celery and carrots! Our everyday fare includes creative menu items enhanced with tantalizing marinades and delicious sauces. But we also include a variety of choices for the health conscious. We offer grilled sandwiches and an assortment of dinner-sized salads. Plus, we use only 100 percent soybean oil for frying and only white-meat chicken is used to minimize fat content. And with the exception of chicken wings, all our chicken is served boneless and skinless.

        A bit of Zaxby's Info

My fiancee used to work at Zaxby's in high school and she says their hot wings should be ok. She assures me that they do not use flour or any breading on any of the wings and as far as she knows the sauce is only vinegar and pepper sauce. So they should be ok. The grilled chicken Caesar is also okay if you pick the croutons off and the dressing is between 1g and 2 g carbs. Hope this helps.
