  • DEEELISH Cabbage!!!

I'm a huge cabbage fan!!! I LOVE the stuff
SO I found this recipe on Linda's site, and I made it tonight.
Ooooo, I loved it so much I want it every night...lol.
It's called "Crispy Cabbage" but it isn't crispy at all.
Here's the recipe, then a pic...

    CRISPY CABBAGE
1 medium head cabbage, about 27 ounces before trimming
    4 tablespoons butter, melted
    Salt and pepper

Cut the cabbage into 1-inch wedges making sure to keep the core intact on every wedge. See the photo below. You may lose a few of the lose outer leaves that aren't attached to the core. Place the cabbage on a baking sheet and brush with the melted butter. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Turn the wedges over and do the same on the other side. Roast at 450º until the cabbage is browned around the edges, about 20-25 minutes.

    Makes 6 servings

Per Serving: 98 Calories; 8g Fat; 2g Protein; 7g Carbohydrate; 3g Dietary Fiber; 4g Net Carbs

Even the brown parts were tasty. If you like cabbage I would give this one a try

That little bit of cumin and chili powder sounds really good scooter; I don't like spicy stuff, but it does sound like it would add some good flavor.

All I do is cut it up in smaller pieces and put some water in the bottom...not a lot..but enough to make it steam. Today I put Sausage links on top of it. Hubby ate it so that is a good sign Only thing is the cabbage gets dark as it cooks this way. But it still taste good. Oh I put some butter and pepper on top of it too

                  Sounds wonderful! Thanks.

I sometimes cook cabbage by shredding and boiling it for a few mins (the crinkly kind...Savoy, I think). In a separate pan toss some chopped leek in olive oil (don't stint on the oil). When it's soft, add the drained cabbage and toss again. Correct seasoning. I like lots of black pepper. Cook a few mins like that and just before serving add in a cheese slice or two.

                    Re: DEEELISH Cabbage!!!

I had this last night. Yummy! I'll definitely be eating more cabbage. It had a lot more flavor than boiling it which is what I always used to do.

Tonight I'm going to try roasting asparagus.

I love cabbage, I have a slight fixation for it at the moment lol (before that it was celery)
I love to slice it into thin shreds and then stir fry it in lots of butter. Just until it's a little wilted, not 100% cooked. It's my mock noodles or spaghetti or rice for the moment. Last night I had it under a delicious curry and even my husband looked at his with rice and then looked at mine with cabbage and said a little sad "oh", because he would of rather had cabbage! I had to laugh lol

I do the same with red cabbage, if I can spare the carbs, I add a little yellow onion, 1 T. vinegar and 1/2 packet of splenda. A little caraway seed is a good addition (that's the stuff in seeded rye). The sweet and sour flavor is fabulous! I like it with butter, salt and pepper too.

Now I think I have to have that for lunch with a pork chop!
