  • Fried "apples" -- highly recommended!

I made this tonight for the first time, and it is definitely going to become a regular staple for me.... it tasted exactly like fried apples! I HIGHLY recommend it. This might be my very favorite low-carb recipe EVER!

I'm also going to post it in desserts, because it would make a great one...

This sounds great! I am going to be looking for chayote in the grocery store. Don't know if I can get it this far north, but I am going to be watching!

I've seen this recipe but since it's not Induction friendly I was going to try the Jicama "Apples" from the same site. Have you tried that one?

I haven't tried it with jicama, but know people who have and like it. The only difference is that I think the chyote softens up more, while the jicama stays more firm.

I tried the jicama apples and I just did not see the appeal. I love jicama raw and I think I may have to eat them that way. My girl did not eat hers either, it just did not taste like apples to us. But again, I may have done something wrong in the process, but for now I would rather just eat a piece of the jicama raw. Sorry
