  • Laura's faux potato chips

    This is a nice fake chip for those craving salt and chrunch. Cheddar cheese seems to burn more quickly and is a pain to get off the sheet if it does.

    Laura's faux chips

    Ingredients:

    Shredded parm cheese
    shredded assiago cheese

    Heat the oven to 400 F
    Sprinkle the cheese into small clumps on a cookie sheet
    bake until golden brown (approx 10 min)
    scrap off sheet immediately and let cool
    they'll look like lace cookies

    they store well in an airtight container. I make batches and snack on a few at a time.

    )
    enjoy

    The carb counts for this would depend on how much cheese you use.

    If you use a silpat liner (it's a silicone sheet sold at most kitchen stores) it won't stick at all. Nothing sticks to them! They are awesome!

      At Sam's club you can buy a big container of mixed shredded Italian cheeses -- Asiago, Parm, Reggio and something else - -anyway there are four cheese in it. It makes a great combo for the cheese crispies! Actually, now that I think about it, EVERY cheese I've tried this way is great!

          You can make them on top of the stove in a nonstick skillet or in the microwave on parchment paper, its quicker, easier and I've never had any problems with sticking!
