Gummy's basic recipe
4 envelopes of unflavored gelatin like the Knox or store brands
1 C cold flavored liquid of choice
3 cups boiling flavored liquid of choice
Soften gelatin over 1 cup cold water (this means sprinkle it over the top of the water and let it stand a minute.
Add hot liquid and stir until completely dissolved about 5 min
pour into a 13x9x2 pan or one with 117 square inches 2 inches deep
refrigerate until firm about 3 hours in the South.
My guys like them chewier so we use more gelatin 6 packets to be exact, but you can experiment with it.
You can use the spenda sodas as the liquid or those Splenda sweetened flavored syrups whatever will give you sweetener equal to 1/2 cup. You may want them sweeter it is up to the taster who makes them to decide when to stop adding.
For the syrup base I'd just use 2 cups boiling water and when it was all dissolved I'd add base until I had the flavor I wanted and then add however much more water you need to get the full cup of water you didn't use. You will need to measure it as you go the first time. If you goof up and add to much liquid you will have rubbery jello. You can also use the syrup base Spenda whatever would be 1/2 cup of sugar and unsweetened Koolaide packet for the flavor. My guys like it that way. If I'm going to have any I use stevia.
If you want worms you will need about 100 plastic straws and a round container as tall as they are. But not much bigger in diameter then the group of straws you can use tall drinking glasses and do it in 2-3 sets. remember this is 4 cups of liquid jello.
Stand them on end in your container and pour the solution into the container slowly the straws will try to pop out so be careful. Place in the refrigerator and chill as above. remove straws from container and run warm water over them for a few seconds. Use a rolling pin and start at one end roll worm out the other end. don't leave at room temp for more then 2 HR.
