Absolutely YES! You'll hear from a whole lot of folks on this board who've had their gall bladder removed and have no trouble with this WOE, me included.

I'm having trouble with my gall bladder as we speak. How do you feel now that it's been removed? How did Atkins feel while you still had your gall bladder in? Sorry for all the questions but i'm glad that I found your post

        Re: Gall Bladder Disease

Although I still have my gall bladder, I've often wondered if you could do Atkins with it. I have a genetic blood disorder that causes my spleen to play dirty tricks on my gall bladder and my doctor has been wanting to remove them both for years but I have been holding out for as long as I can. I just can't get my head around the idea of someone rammaging around inside of me and throwing out the bits and pieces they don't like, as though they were clearing out an old closet. But, someday.......

I can see where you're coming from especially that your situation seems a little trickier. I should be getting that call for surgery soon actually but will try that gallbladder flush that is out there.

Good luck with your surgery Jaybee. I hope all goes well and you recover quickly and are back OP real soon.

              Re: Gall Bladder Disease

I had my gallbladder remooved in 2001. I had lost 102lbs in 10months and it crapped out. Havign the surgury is my BIGGEST regret. I wish i had known the holistic options for treating gallbaldder problems prior to having the surgury. 7 years later my body is still not "normal" Atkins has only improoved things...not made it worse.

No Gallbladder here, don't miss it, don't really notice that it is gone. I just know that the pain went away after the surgery...Amen!!!
I had mine out in 89 and have not looked back. I eat anything I want (on this WOE now) and I have no problems. My cholesterol has dropped, and it was not high to start with, my BP is down and same thing it was not high to start with. I do regret losing my Boobs, :-( Why are they always the first to go? LOL

                  Re: Gall Bladder Disease

I had mine removed 2 weeks ago tomorrow and I must say that I feel so much better...no more nausea, bloating(only swelling still),no pain in my gut every day....etc. Although I cant lift anything heavy for a while and have to take it easy, i'm more prone to doing physical activities now. I suppose everyone is different
