  • What do you do for Stress??!! In stead of eating ??

    Hi every one!!! I hope you all are doing well on this day!!

    I have a question – ok I had a very stressful weekend AND like always I reverted back to my old way of coping with stress…. I ate EVERYTHING in sight!!

    I was wondering WHAT do ya’ll do when stress comes your way?

    I have heard to ‘take a bath’….’walk the dog’…. ‘paint your fingernails’ …. But these just don’t work for me.. maybe you will have something that will work for me… please help --- today is another bad day!!

    I will stop and get back on my Atkins this afternoon! I have lost 18 pounds so far and I AM NOT going to gain that back!!!!!!!

    Did eating everything in sight help with the stress? Did it change the situation any?

      Exercise is a great stress-buster! Plus it helps you lose weight & tone up!

        Eating is no longer my solution for stress. I have decided that is not how I will cope! I am on the NO-EXCUSES PLAN!

        But......You could still eat when stressed.


        Wash and dry some romaine. Clean and chop up some mushrooms, red pepper, a little onion, grate some fresh parm cheese, cut up a little tomato, peel and slice up some jicama. Cut up a little cooked chicken. Measure/weigh it all into fitday. Then throw it all in a bowl and top with some Atkins friendly dressing and EAT!!! By the time you chop and peel all that stuff up, you will forget what you were stressed about. Now you just have to clean up the kitchen.

        I'm sorry, but you just have to make your mind up to handle stress another way, and be prepared for the next time, and plan how you will deal with it. We all have stress and problems in our life, but stuffing carbs in our body will not solve those challenges.
        It will Just make it worse.

          no eating everything is sight DID NOT help AND it turned out ok in the end any way!! I did not even NEED to be stressed about it!! My mind just thinks of the worst!!

            That's the thing my friend, all that eating was for nothing! That's why you have to build a new path to take for stressful times. A path that will not send you into a set back. A lot of us have this problem. But we need to re-train ourselves. The last time I dropped a lot of weight, 10 years ago, I hit a stressful time, got off the right track, and went the wrong way....gained it all back and 50# more. That's why i said I am on the "NO-EXCUSES PLAN".

              I crochet. I find an artistic outlet helps. My job can be stressful at times and I have two teenage children, so I have my share. But sitting down with a skein of yarn and a crochet hook - creating something - just makes me relax.

              My husband and son used to go racing, when I didn't go along I would do things like - stain glass an entire window, mosaic tile a wall, paint rooms - find a project that interests you - it makes the time fly and its fun!!!
