personally I have used this medication(dyflucin, the one pill) and it worked for me temporally. I suggest you also get some acidophlisis pills and start taking them to replace the good bacteria back into your system.

I also take garlic pills, caprylic acid pills, oil of oregano and I am doing real well controling the yeastie beasties. These three suppliments are a life save for me. They kill out the overgrowth of candida.

This does take time, so be patient. I buy all these at Walmart, or online.

      Is diflucan like Canesten?

Would Canesten Oral clear a yeast overgrowth?

Canesten was taken off the prescription medicines list in New Zealand a few years ago, you can buy it at a pharmacy. BC in NZ seeing a doctor costs, getting a prescription costs, being able to buy it over the counter was BIG improvement. Previous to that I had to remember to ask for a script when antibiotics were prescribed. In the UK its a pharmacy medicine.

If cider vinegar is okay for KISS, can I have homemade, made with cider vinegar mayo?

Diflucan is a good drug but sometimes, on rare occasions, you have to take a second one if the yeast infection has been with you for some time. I've talked my doctor into giving me a second pill in case that happens with me but I'm a nurse. Sometimes that makes a difference in getting that second one prescribed.

Hinen, some say they can eat unprocessed vinegar(bought at health food stores). But for me I have to leave vinegar out of my diet. It gets my yeast problem in an uproar when I eat vinegar.
I make my mayo with lemon juice instead of vinegar. Tastes good to me.
Thanks Punkin for your expert advice.
I just read about canesten/clotrimazol cream. I have bought this product at Walmart (over the counter). It has helped me in the past.
