    Stevia

I read somewhere that we can use herbs (fresh) but while I'm doing this detox thing, can I use Stevia? Just wondering. I cant have coffee while I'm doing this so I see no use for it, but I would like to know.

Hey, Cheryl! I love the graphic with your name in it. Where did you get that?! :geek

You can absolutely have stevia. I have it in lemonade and I made some koolaid last night, but haven't tried it yet. :capital

Be careful that the stevia you buy doesn't have fillers like maltodextrin (made from malt -- I think) in it. I get Wisdom Natural Brands' SteviaPlus with inulin fiber in it. Inulin fiber feeds the good bacteria. You have to watch the drops too -- make sure there's no alcohol in them.

A lot of the alchohol-free drops use glycerine as a base (e.g. NOW Stevia Glycerite), which some people claim you must count as carbs. But then again you are only using a few drops at a time (e.g. 0.16mL per serving for the aforementioned product).
