  • Yeast Infections... ICK!

    Hi everyone!

We're now in the month of June, and since February of this year, I've had a yeast infection three out of four months. I did the spit test this morning, and after 20 minutes it was cloudy and leggy down the side of the glass. YUCK. I know I brought this on myself from reaching goal and celebrating (a little too much), so my question is if I start Induction again, will that help clear up symptoms?

The one thing I'm most concerned about is Splenda. Can I use Splenda in my coffee in the morning, or do I have to give up coffee and Splenda until the yeasties clear?

I'm also planning to pick up the Vita Nutrients book this weekend so I can get the right supplements to get rid of yeasties once and for all. I've had it with being at goal and having my stomach stick out from BLOAT :anger

First off Congratulations for being at GOAL!!! Wonderful news!

To rid yourself of overgrowth of yeast you have to starve it out. So check out the KISS WOE. It is more strict than the Induction WOE. KISS WOE is about eating purely, nothing processed

    Atkins KISS Plan
    (Keep It Simple Sweetie)
Written by Kiersten from Atkins & Lowcarb Friends

The goal of KISS is to focus on real foods.

Those two foods are natural meats and veggies.

What is not allowed is processed meats (bacon, sausage, deli meat, etc.), dairy, nuts & artificial sweetener (AS).

If it has been processed or altered by humans, DON’T eat it. Though bacon is meat, it’s processed – full of chemicals – so you can’t eat that. Same with sausage, ham, hot dogs, deli meats, etc.

Eat low to medium carb veggies – tomatoes are okay, for instance. Eat until you are full. You will feel fantastic.

For some of my favorite meals -- meatloaf (no ketchup, but load it with chunks of tomatoes!!!), with a side of green beans; steak with sautéed onion (olive oil); grilled chicken and homemade salsa (chunks of tomato, cilantro, onion, jalapeno peppers, bit of salt & lime juice); scrambled eggs (yes, they are a meat); cucumber for a snack; side salads with olive oil and a little lemon juice for a dressing or you can make your own dressing with natural fresh herbs, not dried ones (this sounds time-consuming but you can do it); the list goes on!!!

It does get old but you will feel amazing and you WILL lose weight – and that’s the point! You will also get your overgrowth of yeast under control too. If you don't need to lose weight just eat more fat/protein to get the calories up, as to not lose. Most of us need to lose, but a few don't. congrats to the ones at goal.

In case you have noticed a resemblance, this is a lot like Neanderthin. Though Neanderthin allows fruit which is too high in sugar and nuts which is an intolerance for many people. The concept is, again, natural foods eaten by the caveman, before agriculture and manufacturing. If it takes a machine to make it, then it isn’t allowed on this diet!!!

I feel it’s important to NOT try this though unless you are truly stuck. Why? Once you remove all of this stuff, it is hard to add it back in.

Splenda has to be cut out too. You can use Stevia(found online or thru health food stores) Stevia is the only one permitted during your cleanse. I use it sparingly.

Good idea to get the vita nutrient book, I have it and it can give you the right mg. to take of the suppliments to rid the candida. I personally take garlic, OofO, acidophlisus, caprylic acid.
If we can help just let us know. Be sure and read all the stickys on the forum you will probably find your answers to questions you might be needing.

    Happy anti yeasting!

      Becky Sue,

Do you by chance have a recipe for meatloaf? I could live with that.

I wasn't sure what to do about salad dressings either but now that I know about lemon juice I'll cut out vinegar for a while. It never bothered me before, but with the crap I'd been eating (and I wondered why I felt kind of sleepy, DUH) I want to start over clean and add vinegar back in after the yeastie beasties are under control.

      Thanks! :icondance

On edit: The VitaNutrients book didn't arrive, so I hope it gets here tomorrow :sarcasm
