  • Spit test - still positive

My spit test still shows positive for yeast. However, I have lost 3 - 4 pounds in the last two weeks. Does this mean it is not yeast for me? I take pysillium and acidophilous every day now as well and stay away from cheese. Wow, 2 weeks ago I never would have thought i could give up cheese, what do you know! I do have an ounce here and there though but nothing like I used to.

Also, is it true that cream cheese does not have add to yeast problems as does regular cheese?

    Thanks,
    Kelly

    Hi Kelly.
Dr Atkins does say that you can eat cream cheese and mozzarella cheese in moderation, but for me I have to leave it out of my diet. It is possible that you can eat it. You will just have to experiment and watch for symptoms. If you have bad symptoms, cut it from your diet.
The KISS WOE say NO cheese. Everyone has to make their own way, the best to you.
WOW!!! You have lost 3 - 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks. You are making great progress.
As for the spit test. The yeast will gradually get better and it does take awhile for the spit test to show that you are back to normal amounts of yeast. I kept in my journal just how the yeast got better, but it did take time, about 2 months for me.
Keep taking your suppliments and let us know how you get along!

      Becky,

I have not been following KISS because we weren't completely sure it was yeast at the time. But I have cut down heavily on the cheese as I mentioned. And I am taking supplements plus yesterday I bought Ginko Biloba for the brain fog. Truthfully, I have always had a little brain fog it just got a lot worse for awhile. I really think it was the cheese stalling me. I figure if the scale is moving I am doing ok with what I am eating. Plus I am starting to go to Curves again.

      Thanks for all your help!

      Kelly

the aged cheeses is a source of yeasties for reinfection which was why Dr Atkins said you could have the cream cheese and the mozzarella. their taste isn't created by aging.

HOWever the lactose in them is a source of food for the yesties still soo until you are totally clean you should avoild them.

I am a little lost here, what is KISS? I followed the anti candida diet for two months, take all the supplements, I don't have the simptoms now, but my spit test is still positive, should I worry about it?

It may be the same as anti candida diet, I don't know.
As for symptoms I don't know that either, I am on Kiss because I have not been losing very well and the Dr says yeast overgrowth can be a cause of stalling.
