  • I guess i am full of it!

Yeast that is! I did the spit test this morning and it was disgusting, I also did the test and I scored quite high. This all seems to make sense that I haven't been losing any weight. I have been on the "Body for Life" program for quite some time then after my second daughter I started exercising really hard and couldn't drop a pound. Now that I have read about Candida a light bulb has gone off- It all makes sense.
So....I cut out cheese etc, for 4 to 6 weeks- then what? Should I go to a dr. and get meds or should I try the foods first?
I am still on Induction, just started last week- I have noticed that my body is changing and all of the good things that come with Atkins. Exercise is not a problem for me, I do it about 5 to 6 times per week.
This is all new for me but any advice would be helpfull, thanks

Check out the sticky notes on this forum. they explain your options. The KISS woe would be what I would start with.
If you deside to consult with your doctor at this time, he/she can do a blood test to determine how bad your yeast overgrowth is. Acidophlisis is a must.
The best to you. Fighting yeast overgrowth is a long tedious process. I fight it everyday.

      Becky,

Did you have to take meds for the yeast overgrowth?

        Hi Deb,
Check this link out, it is one of the sticky notes on this forum. It is my story.
Yes, I did take prescription, nystatin.
Even this week, I am having flairups of my candida(yeast overgrowth). I tried to add some almonds back into my eating plan. Now my problem is showing up.
I have found that for me, I will not be able to add certain foods back, without experiencing the agravation of yeast problems.
Believe me! I still have more questions about yeast instead of answers! I do want to help others with my experiences of this problem. We all have to figure what works for us as individuals. It is like a science experiment! One that is hard to solve or manage!
If I can help you, let me know.
