  • How Do I know...

if I'm having problems with yeast? I lost 3 lbs. my 3rd day of Induction, but nothing since. Also, What is a spit test? I have tried Atkins before ( a few years ago) and also had the same problem. I also suspected cheese but never thought about Candida. I don't get yeast infections. Don't you have to go to the Dr. for them?

If you scroll down a little in this forum you will find athread on the spit test

"I cannot point to published research that proves diet can actually cause yeast. But my clinical practice has convinced me that the wrong foods can and will encourage the continuation and expansion of a Candida overgrowth." Dr Robert C Atkins DANDR 2

You don't have to have yeast infections to have candida growth. If the spit test is positive it might be useful to see a doctor for anti-fungal medication and further testing. But you don't have to. Read the stickies
