  • I have a yeast overgrowth :-(

I have been on induction for 6 weeks (since Jan 1). I dropped 6 pounds Week1, and the other 2 I dropped overnight sometime in the middle after "cheating" and eating plain yogurt with Crystal Light in it.

As of last night, I got suspicious that something foul was afoot, stopping my weight loss.

I made my way to the Candida boards here, and read the stickies.

This morning I did the spit test, and sure enough, instantaneously on contact with the water, my spit was white and grew legs to the bottom.

AACK! I am kind of grossed out and scared.

Based on what I am reading on the boards, I need to pick up the following after work today:

    oil of oregano
    apple cider vinegar
acidophilus tablets (the good bacteria found in plain yogurt)

Also, I guess I need to immediately begin KISS. No dairy whatsoever (goodbye, butter, I'll miss you).

Is this correct? Is this what I need to do? Please advise - I want these nasty things under control!

Following KISS doesn't mean giving up only diary but all the staff which contain mold and all the processed food!!!

so no bacon, no deli meat or lucheon meat, no burgers, no sausage (no processed meat basically)
and no vinegar and any other product containing vinegar (mayo iNcluded)
    and no mushrooms
and no spices (unless they are fresh)
    maybe i forgot something,

read carefullly the stickies by Becky sue, they supply all the info you need to know

No tea, coffee, practically just water, low-carb veggies, and meat, eggs, fish, chicken. Nothing procesed.

But it is not forever, I keep that in mind! It is worht it, you will loose weight and feel much better when you get rid of the yeasties.

What Mirna and gala told is correct. Good idea by taking care of the yeast problem now. Good luck!

I thought butter was ok, along with coconut oil ( made from fresh meat of the coconut ) for cooking and veggies.

Just stay away from other dairy like cream, milk, yogurt, kefir, and cheese

Depends on if you're following the KISS or GS diet. KISS isn't as strict, so you can have a few more food items.
