  • Just a few questions...

I failed the spit test. I am guessing that my yeast overgrowth is probably extremely high. I have been on MANY, MANY round of antibiotics in my life ( I am 29 years old ) in my teenage years. Even on ATKINS diet I would get bloated, and feel lethargic after eating many foods ( especially drinking coffee with cream ). I had a VERY poor diet as a youth, very high in sugar and processed foods with constant rounds of antibiotics.

So, I started anti yeast diet, and I feel great... symptoms are getting better. I am curious though if I would need to get the Nystatin ( spelling? ) drug from my doctor? I don't even know if he would prescribe it to me.

Anyway, I am eating the following on a weekly basis..
Veggies ( some frozen ) mainly lettuce, tomatoes, onions, zuchinni, bell peppers, hot peppers ( habanero, jalapeno )...
Meats - Eggs, Ground chuck, stew meat, chicken, steak
    I drink only water
I take apple cider vinegar when I remember

What else can I do? Does my diet look ok? I use only coconut oil for cooking ( stir fry )

What about pepper? How do I get mold free pepper?

Any help would be great! Thanks

    Re: Just a few questions...

You don't need to get Nystatin to fight your yeast. If you feel that you need it, you can always talk to your doctor about it.

There are two diets that you can follow to fight the yeast, KISS or gold standard. KISS isn't as strict & is therefore easier for people to follow. For your veggies, you only want to consume lower carb ones, so limit tomatoes & onions or out them entirely. Green onions are ok. Your meats look just fine. Remember to stick to fresh meats instead of processed ones such as sausage & bacon.

Apple cider vinegar is fine for KISS, not fine for GS.

You can also start taking supplements to help fight the yeast. Garlic pills (in addition to eating fresh ones), oil of oregano, etc. Then there's the probiotics, too.

Mold free spices are tricky. I just took a chance and ground up whole spices. I did test some of my peppercorns and rolled them around on a sterile Petri dish of TSA to see what grew. Yeah, there was a wealth of bacteria (I'm sure you wanted to know that), but no mold. I also used fresh herbs that I washed throughly.

    Good luck.
