  • yeast?

TMI will be contained in here. my apologies. I did the yeast questions when I started Atkins. Ive not had a problem with it before and so, I went on my merry way.
Problem now, I have a yeast infection. yes, *there*. THese are NOT a normal occurance for me. (1 maybe every few years if that and in response to heavy antibiotics). And this one seems to have been brought on by Neosporin that I used externally for a scratch. Ive treated the infection itself. should I be concerned with the yeasties diet wise now?

    Many thanks.

    Re: yeast?

not really if the source of those yeasties was external and treatment was exteranal also then the internal balance in your intestines should not be effected but you can do a few days of some antifungal eating just to be sure galic is a natural antifungal and probiotics can't hurt. if you are on OWL eatting some yogurt with active cultures will take car of it if you can handle them in your WOE

      Re: yeast?

the cause- I scratched myself and my nail cut my skin externally. I put neosporin on the cut for a couple days to speed healing since thats a sort of weird area to heal with panties rubbing etc. I treated the yeast infection itself with on OTC cream thats used internally (vaginally, not orally).

THanks 2Big, Ill see if I cant find some active culture yogurt.

Yeast infections are a *****, just as bad as Urinary Infections. I rate them both . Hope your feeling better soon and I hope it wasn't the neosporin cause I use that often cause well, my DH loves to sharpen knives and I always cut myself on them......

yiu didn't have to tell all that more stuff the cause I knew from your original post it was the neospotin on your skin that messed up your bacteria balance in that area that changes the pH and let the yeasties thrive. I just didn't know if you used external treatments only as the cure for the yesties as some ladies talk an oral pill too.
