BTW... I think I figured out why I started getting dry itchy eyes, some coughing, and mucus buildup lately. I just started using my heater about 2 weeks ago.... around the same time all my symptoms started. There must be some dust/mold or something in my heating ducts. (central air/heat) I'll have to call the service guy and see how much it costs to get them cleaned. It's a small place, so I can't imagine it would be much.

Just curious....Is your hubby a veggie too??

I'm amazed that I haven't stalled out yet... but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weight keeps slowly dropping. I'd be very happy with 1-2 pounds a week from here on in. Actually... I'll be jumping for joy!! :icondance

Thanks for all your help and encouragement. :hug

Sorry... I'm a meat eater for life. I'm not really interested in reading all the perceived negatives about eating meat. But thanks for the link anyways.

I found the spelt bread by Pacific Bakery at a Whole Foods Market. I was SO excited until I saw how many carbs were in one slice :yikes 17 net carbs!!! I bought some anyway and will freeze it and have it as a treat once in a while. Thanks for letting me know about it :nod

I eat a pretty high level of carbs, so 1 slice in a day with no other grains is okay for me. If you notice, I usually have a higher carb grain early in the day... then low-carb veggies the rest of the day. One serving of my steel cut oats is about 27 net carbs.

                    Skinny Soon,
the article I linked to is not percieved ideas, it was written by a doctor, and is on the site of Dr. John Christopher, the well known natural healer. These are all well known facts that I thought would be of interest to read to prevent illness, (that have been written in many books.) and to make better choices of where our meat comes from, that's the only reason I included this link. I don't; and never have expected people to stop eating meat or to change their diet in any way, but only to make educated choices;where their food is concerned; and how it is handled.
That's what this cleanse we are doing is all about.

Hope I wasn't taken wrong in any way. :hug

                    Smiles,
                    Missy

I definately didn't take it the wrong way. :hug I just didn't want to read a long article about something that's against eating meat. I didn't mean to put down your beliefs or your choice in eating the way you do.

Health is a science... and for every study proving one thing, there can be dozens that prove the exact opposite. I'm not saying that your link is wrong or innacurate, but meat is not something I'll ever give, up, no matter what is said about it, or what it is blamed for. I can easily say that sugar is more dangerous then meat.

We were a hunter and gathering society of people.... and I beieve we did pretty darn well as omnivores.

Hope you are still doing well....(I needed to take a break from the board with all of the negative feelings hanging around....plus I had to get busy with my candle business.)

I'm kinda fluctuating between 150.5 and 151.5... but that's because I've had a couple high calorie days here and there... and I missed the gym 1/2 of last week because I felt like I was sick. (down from 157 since Nov. 27th) It seems that all the fast loss has ended... and I'm now doing the 1 pound crawl again. (as long as I don't overeat)

I find it almost impossible for me to actually be "sick" with all the supplements I take, so I assume it's allergy related with all the heavy winds that we've been having on and off the last week or so. If I'm actually sick, I'm very surprised.

No more whooshie kinda feelings... and I'm not sure how many inches I lost because I can't find the slip of paper I used to write down my starting measurements. I do feel as if my tummy is starting to get flatter though.

Other then feeling under the weather, I've been doing great. I'm accomplishing alot in a little amount of time, and I'm happy that I'm finally moving forward instead of backwards.

I've only got 3 weeks to go before my BF comes back home from India... so I've got to add a few extra days at the gym for some additional cardio. I'm determined to get down to atleast 147 before he returns.

I've got a holiday party tonight that will make my diet challenging, but I'll do my best to make the best choices out of what is being served. (not the kinda party I can bring anything to) I should be able to find something that I can eat.

I have already planned to cheat on X-mas Eve... so I'm hoping it doesn't destroy my plans on reaching my weight goals before he returns. I'll make sure to fill up on the better choices first... then just nibble on the bad stuff.

I'll check in again when I've got time. Till then... happy low-carbing, and good luck with your candida diets.

                            BAD GIRL !!

Damn.... I really tried hard not to cheat. I made it through the first 3 hours of the party drinking diet coke (still not great) and nibbling on crudite (without dressing) and dolmas. I was there from 8pm till 2am. (6 hours)

When you go to a party at a friend's house who owns a $10 million estate and they serve the best catered food you've ever seen... and the hosts insists that you try everything... it's tough... and I caved in.

I was expecting Indian food, and planned to eat nothing but the tandoori chicken, but when dinner came out, it was Chinese food. Not just any chinese food... but the best darn chinese food I ever laid eyes on, or tasted... and NONE of it (not one dish) was Atkins or Candida friendly. I swear, I never tasted anything like it before. It was prepared by a gourmet chef... not the local chinese food joint. Wow !! That was the first time I cheated where the "cheat" seemed like it was actually worth the temporary few-pound gain.

Once I ate dinner... I lost all control. A few glasses of wine, some tequila and dessert slipped down without a second thought.

I'm back up to 152.5.... but not feeling guilty about it. Atleast it didn't do too much damage. Yeah... it put me back a few pounds to meet my goal, but atleast the food was good enough to warrant a cheat.... and I had a great time with some friends.

I didn't get to bed until 3am... so I'm still pretty tired typing this. I'm not hungover... but I could definately use some more sleep. The night before was a late night too... with broken sleep all night. No wonder why I've been under the weather a bit lately.

... enough talking about my recent bad behavior.

I'm back on track this morning.... sitting here havign breakfast: 4oz chicken breast, 1/2 c. oatmeal, and some detox tea w/lemon & stevia.

I've been tired all day... but surprisingly, no headache from all the cheat foods. Normally, I get a 3-day headache after any cheats.

Okay... maybe I've got a super mild one, but nothing like my normal ones.

(whoops.. posted 2x in one day... I better get my butt off this board fast)
