  • A man with yeast problem...

I am a male and have had yeast related rashed down there from excessive"chafing" and sweating. I have not exercised much due to this problem as I am afraid that the yeat infections would return. I jsut started my induction, and think that I got the yeast from when I was in the hospital 1 and a half years ago for a head injury, but don't really know. It could also be from meds that I take now taht I didn't take for the rest of my life. I am yet to do the yeast test, but am sure it will be positive. How do I get rid of this? I don't eat a lot of dairly, mostly just meat, veggies and fruit. I have to use miconazole to get rid of the infection every time it shows up(jsut had an outbreak last week) Any suggestions?

    anubiss-

you should really go to the doc to get an anti-fungal. the OTC products sold are only 2% miconazole nitrate or 4% if you want to buy Monistat 3, which as you know, is a vaginal antifungal, but same active ingredient. probably your best bet is to get an Rx like sertaconazole, econazole, etc. i happen to work for JnJ consumer and the Monistat line of products are my resposnibility, so i know ALOT about fungal infections of all types. yick, i know! seriously, go to the doc. and good luck. PM me if you want any more info on some of the dermal Rx antifungals.

I have to tell my side of the yeast story here.

I had terrible yeast infections for a very long time. I was hospitalized for it and they pumped 7 different anitoboitcs in my system. Yes it cleared up. But within 2 weeks if came back. I got hives so bad from it I would cry.

About my 4th day of induction, the yeast STOPPED! The hives are gone, I am no longer miserable.
I dont know if this WOE to get rid of yeast will work for everyone, but it sure did for me.
Good luck with your induction and I HOPE you get the same results I did!!

Re: A man with yeast problem...

Just wanted to add something from personal experience...my boyfriend also suffered from very bad yeast problems "down there" and it was a constant problem for him for years.

When we started atkins together and did induction, it was gone within a week or two. And I mean completely gone...poof...like it was never even there.

Whenever he goes off atkins for an extended period of time, it eventually came back.
