  • Shake Recipe Anyone?

I am having a hard time finding a quick and easy solution for breakfast. Lunch and dinner is much easier with salads and meet. I am just curious if anyone has a quick shake recipe that is induction friendly and also works for the anti candida diet??

Also, is there any chance that a powdered shake brand already exists at the health food store that I could use??? I am probably dreaming on that one.

I don't think there are any acceptable shakes for CAD. You usually need dairy (milk or cream) to make a decent shake, plus the mixes all contain something or another that would not be safe for CAD.

If you are pressed for time in the mornings, you could boil a few eggs the night before and refrigerate them to "grab-and-go".

      Shake

Thanks for the reply. I guess hard boiled eggs will be my best option.

I drink Whey protein every morning. i drink it in filtered water, in ICE cold water, I love GNC'S Banana Creme and their Chocolate one. I put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes and it tastes SO good!! nothing in that to interfere with CAD.

One thing you have to keep in mind about the whey protein is that it is derived from milk. And since milk is on the dairy list of no-no foods, it is best that you wait on this until after CAD.

I think I might research this one. It seems to me that protein is protein no matter what source it comes from. Just like sugar is sugar to us "Atkins" dieters no matter if it's fruit sugar or starch sugar. So, if protien doesn't "feed" the yeast, what difference would it make that the protein comes from milk?

Isn't dairy avoided because it can contain mold ( like in cheese ) and also because products like milk contain milk sugar, lactose?

dairy is a CAD nono because of the lactose sugar in it. whey protein isoloate is lactose free. Any sugar free protein isolate can be a part of a CAD diet be careful with your whey though as whey protein powder can have lactose as part of the whey and it will have carbs in the seving size

For what it's worth:I have used GNC Whey Protein for over 2 years now with NO effect on Atkins WOE or on ACD. It doesn't effect it, I am still not bloated or any other side effects that I had with Candida and I am STILL losing inches.

This may apply to you, but it doesn't apply to everyone. On CAD it is important to leave all the processed/altered foods alone. While some may not have any problems with the whey protein powders, others might.

I, personally, did not eat anything other than whole foods. No extracts, no protein powders and nothing that would affect my yeast levels. It was the sure way to go, for myself.

                        sweetner?

Mine has sucralose listed as one of the last ingredients ... guess that means I will be shake-free. Darn, I need some breakfast options!
