Okay... after reading through this topic a couple times, i made a list of all helpful supplements.. went to my vits store who has a really good person.. gave it to her and said okay what should i get...

    She had me get:

    Oil of Oregano
    Garlic
    Probiotics and
    Yeast Cleanse

They were out of coconut oil but she recommeneded i get it.

    Now the question:
i had already gone shopping for the week and i have food i can't eat for the yeast thingy but since i am the only one in my house, i really need to use this stuff because i can't afford to get the rest - more meat and veggies.. when i bought cheese and order lunch out a lot... unfortunatley, where i order lunch from either has lettuce salad with BC dressing or "dairy based dressings or sugar based and i usually use carb options ranch or BC..." or the sautee squash and zucchini for me but they have a batch they make with butter...

Soooo lol the actual question.. if i have to wait until next week to start the "Candida" diet with the food... should i begin taking the above-supplements this week or wait til next and start it all at the same time? Will the supps help or get started doing what they are suppose too this week without the diet part?

Finally, when i start the supps... does anyone know how yeast cleanse effects you? Can i start it in the morning during the week or does it hit bad and i should maybe do it on the weekend when i am home or can stay home?

    Thanks... angel

I'd wait on the supplements until you start your cleanse. I used apple cider vinegar (Bragg's), 3 T./day, in addition to the Oil of Oregano. I added Atkins AM Cleanse and PM Renew after a few weeks. And, of course, I eliminated all dairy, fermented foods, mushrooms. I lost 8 lbs. in my first week doing the cleanse (after being stalled, and then yo-yo-ing for over a year)! I lost all bloating during that time as well. This cleanse was a life saver for me!!

The symptoms I had included some mild diarrhea and abdominal cramping. That was the first few days, then they subsided. I experienced *very strong* cravings for sugar about a week in..... they were tough to fight (much stronger than w/Atkins!!).

I hope you'll find your cleanse to be very helpful. Let us know if there's anything anyone can do for you! :nod

Okay sorry i would like to clarify...

So the cleanse is the food you eat? Not the Yeast Cleanse?

If i don't get rid of all my cheeses lol i will cheat with them, so I can't do the food until next week completely, but have the Yeast Cleanse and the rest now (except the coconut oil) i can start tonight if need be..

What is the apple cider vinegar for? Is it needed?

Thanks for replying bgood2me, this can get confusing lol.

I didn't use a product called 'Yeast Cleanse'.

The diet I followed is the diet for cleansing/eliminating an overgrowth of candida from the system. I consider it my 'yeast cleanse' (the 'cleansing' of the yeast from my body).

I wouldn't start taking anything until *after* you stop eating the foods that feed the yeast. Why take steps to kill things at the same time you're feeding them? When I started my cleanse, I tossed the cheese I had into the freezer.... it's still there.... I'm waiting....

The apple cider vinegar isn't required, it was something I'd read about on this board, as well as on the 'net. It aids in digestion. I was able to get a bottle easily and inexpensively (they sell it where my son works), so I added it in.

Just eliminating the dairy, fermented foods and fungi will help ALOT (even w/o the supplements).

Environmental molds aren't healthy either (for anyone, but especially those w/candida), so look around your house and clean up any moldy things that may be lurking around....

Okay great.. thank you for taking the time to help me with this.. i didn't want to use the supps of they weren't going to be helping because they are expensive...

Unfortunately, i eat out a lot for lunch at restuarants downtown who try and do what people need but i don't know what kind of dressing to use on salad if i can't have my BC (cries, knowing this was why she joined ATKINS lol), and the veggies they make me are batched not cooked per order sauteed in butter... maybe i will ask them if they could do it in olive oil instead.

So basically, its my lunches that are screwed up.... plus i don't have a clue what to have for breakfast lol.. unless its just over easy eggs with nothing lol cooked in olive oil.. Maybe i will take the extra 18 bucks i would spend on lunch and go get stuff at the store so i can start tomorrow..

okay sorry lol am writing what i am thinking lol..

          Thanks again.... angel

LOL Breakfast doesn't have mean 'breakfast foods'!!! Have some meat and a salad. Have whatever you'd like!!!

I had omelets w/sauteed sweet red peppers (not just for breakfast). For salad dressing I used olive oil and apple cider vinegar (*huge* change from my usual Ranch, believe me!!). I took my food when I went to work... no eating out. This diet makes induction look like a party.....

I can share lots of menu ideas w/you if you get stuck - just ask.

Oh, btw, no mayo either... unless you make your own using the apple cider vinegar. Regular distilled vinegar is a no no.....

LOL How true! Well, luckily I don't mind eating just veggies and meat all day with EVOO, lemon juice and seasalt "dressing"!

I would have to say that even if you ask for your veggies without butter, they are more than likely going to add it anyway. Most restaurants do put a little butter, at the least, in the veggies to make it more aromatic. I suggest you either bring your own foods or you mix up a little of your own "dressing" and just have salads as your veggies with no cheese or dressing. Also remember, dried spices are also a no-no and try to avoid keeping leftovers for more than one day after. Although they're in your fridge, they can still contain mold after just hours of being in there.

              Happy CADing!

                Thanks...

What is EVOO? yeah.. the reason i went on Atkins was so i could have cheese and my BC dressing...

I was hoping i would be able to start today but i don't trust the place i buy lunch from.

                Thanks for the input.
