  • Currently on antibiotics...

The same day I started induction (a week ago monday) I also started antibiotics for a chronic sinus infection. I will be on them twice a day for 30 days.

I am sure that I have candida overgrowth and I need to address it. Does any one know if I should just wait until I finish the antibiotics to address the candida or is there anything I can do now? If I take probiotics in the mid day will it help? Should I cut out all dairy now or wait until I am done?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

I would wait until your antibiotics are done, unfortunately yeast is a common thing with them and could be pointless to try and correct whilst still taking them.

On the other hand, maybe taking some probiotics during, would diminish the intestinal damage of the antibiotics and then you could evaluate at the end of the 30 day antibiotic course, and increase/decrease/maintain as necessary. I'm no expert though , so these are just thoughts off the top of my head.

I agree with Sally. Start probiotics now. Decrease your dairy consumption. Especially cheese because it can be moldy AND it contains the milk sugars that yeast thrive on.

I know in your other post you were lamenting the fact that you haven't lost anything. In MY opinion, I'd eliminate the dairy (because of the antibiotics/yeast possibility) and increase your vegetable consumption. This will give you more food, more fiber (which will make your bowels move--if you don't have movement, you won't see weight loss), and you'll only be eating those foods that are natural and healthy. Avoid processed meats (bacon, sausage, deli meats) as they are almost always cured with, or contain sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Once again, yeast thrive on this.

Do this for a week and let's see how it goes.

Most lables on probiotics state "Do not take within 2 hours after taking an antibiotic" If you do it will kill the probitics and will be pointless to take them.

arent biotics just gonnna fight against each other if both are done at the same time?

I'm no pro, its just how i would imagine it to happen?

Good points regarding the probiotics that I didn't think of. As expensive as they are, I would hate to have you spend the money just for it all to go down the drain so to speak.

You could still eliminate the food sources that the yeasts need to thrive.
