  • Anyone take Threelac? Or Candex?

I recently got some threelac and I have a few questions..sort of in general about the whole candida thing and along with the threelac.

I'm reading on the website for threelac that a strict candida diet does not need to be followed in order for the product to work. Is this true? I am going to make every effort to cut out these yeast-thriving foods...it just all of a sudden seems to daunting to cut out ALL cheese. obviously is this is what it takes..then this is my option.

Not saying I am about to go eat processed meats, vinager, etc..but how effective is the product going to be if I am following a strict induction and just LOWERING my cheese intake?

I also got some Candex. If anyone has any experience with that, I'd love to hear!

    Thank you!

Sorry, I can't help you out here. The products where I live are different. Hopefully after the weekend someone more knowledgeable about candida will be along with some advice.

I am not familiar with either of those products, but I have done the most strict yeast-free diet possible and that was the only way to get rid of the little buggars! I played around with the diets, but it was only successful when I even removed all tea, coffee, dried spices and herbs, etc. Cheese is one of the worst offenders. I thought I had gotten away scot free after this last surgery and antibiotics, until I started craving and ate blue cheese dressing and blue cheese burgers. It was back with a vengence in just a few days.

Just so you know--chamomile tea and coconut oil are both strong anti-fungals. Both help get rid of the little beasties.

Re: Anyone take Threelac? Or Candex?

              Hi,

I am taking 3lac for the second time because of the success that I had the first time and plus probiotics are really good for the immune system and digestive track. The first time I took it, I was following a pretty strict anti-yeast diet anyway because after I had my son, I always had a lot of yeast in my body and thrush while he was nursing. We both took it, cleared up the yeast completely and it' has never returned even when my diet wasn't so great in the past.

Now, we both take it again for the probiotics and to keep the digestive system going. It also seems to help with my son's food allergies as 75% of the immune system is in the gut and that is where all those food reactions are taking place. We both are doing great with it and I will continue to take it, it also makes any bloating go away as well.

Good luck with it, from my experience it's been a great product!!!

I've heard that garlic supplements are good for it, too, but I have never taken them. I eat so much garlic, I don't feel I need supplements. Half of the food I make has fresh garlic in it. Love the stuff!

You should do at least 14 days of the yeast-free diet. No mushrooms, vinegar or condiments that use vinegar (mustard, mayo, salad dressings, ketchup), pickled or fermented foods, dairy, grains, sugar, nuts, fruit--anything that yeast and fungus feeds on.

If you have had the yeast overgrowth for a long time, you may need to stay off all coffee, tea, dried herbs--anything that readily grown molds.

Coconut oil, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, garlic and chamomile tea are all good anti-fungals and will help get rid of yeast overgrowth.

I was whining about giving up bottled salad dressings when I did this last, but I like the homemade so much using fresh-squeezed lemon or lime juice, I have never gone back to bottled!

I use either fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice, a few drops of toasted sesame oil, olive oil or canola oil and sometimes orange extract and grated fresh ginger (and a couple of drops of liquid Splenda). This is delicious on a spring green salad mix with chicken. When I am not experiencing the yeast symptoms, I add in some unseasoned rice vinegar, as well.

I like the above combination so much, I now make my broccoli salad with the citrus dressing instead of a mayo/vinegar/Splenda. I just lightly steam broccoli florets and add some spring onions, crumbled bacon and the citrus dressing and it is out of this world.

Antifungal supplements are definetly a good thing to have on hand, but try to only use them consistently for a couple weeks (and I do mean consistently, they will mutate fast, almost like bacteria that have become resistance to antibiotics). Best thing to do really is to get rid of sugar. You may even have food allergies. Some people who have yeast infections also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms (the two are essentially the same) that can be "cured" by removing certain foods from the diet. My personal opinion is that the yeast diet is WAY to strict...vinegar won't feed yeast, and neither will other fungi. The biggest threat is sugar in any form (sometimes even lactose). Yeast take sugar and ferment it in the colon, turning it into all sorts of nasty chemicals that make you feel sick! Exercise helps to keep it under control, I find that biking regularly does this. Probiotics...VERY important, I find Activia Light Yogurt to be the best yogurt source. Try to only buy probiotics that have been refridgerated...they work best when they are "alive"

Anyways, yeast problems are no fun...I have chronic yeast infections that have puzzled all my doctors. I met a lady who has the same problems as I do, and she told me her doctor said that there are some people in the world whose bodies prefer "growing" yeast over good bacteria. I hope that you find what works for you and that you will be in good health in no time.

                              Three Lac yes, Candex no

I know with everything you read online about Three Lac it makes you nervous because it all seems fed by their company. I did use it though back four years ago. I can't say if it really helped though or not. This is what I did . . .

Atkins/Candida diet (most strict version) for 6 weeks
Introduced soft cheese back in after that and began diflucan then too
Did the diflucan for six weeks
During those 12 weeks I took garlic, grapefruit seed extract, oil of oregano, caprylic acid, pau d'arco, Cadidaid Forte, and a number of other suggested herbs, supplements, and vitamins
After that I scaled back to just the vitamins and supplements and began the probiotics (which I didn't take enough of), but I continued the diet for another 16 weeks
During the entire time I did some sort of exercise 5-6 days a week that would cause me to sweat for 30 minutes in order to help witht he die-off reaction.
I also took dioxyclhor and life support (through three lac), drank lot of distilled water with tons of lemons

I found the pau d'arco and coconut oil didn't work for me - they just appeared to do nothing. Three Lac seemed to be questionable. It seemed to help more as the problem became less. like it helped to maintain the balance I had achieved, but it didn't do a lot to cleanse my system. So, give it a try and see if it works for you. I suppose that's the only way to know.
