  • Hehehe ~ day 4!

Day 5: So far this is easier than I anticipated!! (except the not chewing gum part ... I'm a gum chewer :yikes ) and if I don't think too much about what I 'can't' have!! I really need something to spice up my food tho~

    ** Can I use lemon/lime juice??

** What do you all put onto salads?? I never was an oil/vinegar gal, but straight oil definately isn't going to work! So far, I've added chicken, celery, and whatever else I can chop up (peppers, etc) and homemade salsa.

**2big, you listed ... hey did you know there is a mayo recipe on the board with lemon juice as the acid? that would make it candida legal too. LadyJean posted it...
I did a search and couldn't find it... do you or anyone happen to have it? Might try it

    Basic Mayonnaise -- Condiments
This one recipe is a life-saver, and the recipe I use whenever mayonnaise is called for.

    Basic Mayonnaise

    Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time 10

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 egg
    2 tsp lemon juice
    1/2 tsp dry mustard
    salt -- 1/16 tsp
    cayenne pepper -- 1/16 tsp
    1 c olive oil -- extra light

Boil egg for exactly 1 minute.
Put egg, lemon juice, salt, cayenne pepper & mustard into blender.
    Begin to process.
While blending, slowly drizzle olive oil into the blender.
The oil will emulsify into mayonnaise.
    Refrigerate.

I don't have Lady Jean's recipe, but here is one I use. A tip for you: You bring the water to boil and carefully place the raw egg(in shell) into the water, time for under a minute(45 sec) then spoon it out. This is to kill salamonella

Your question about dressing I use olive oil and lemon or lime juice on my green toss salads. I just love the taste now. I even have a small bottle of lemon juice and a small bottle of olive oil in purse, so I will be prepared when I eat out. I also sprinkle flax meal on my salads, since I need the extra fiber. Some people can eat the flax meal eating Anti-yeast meals, and some can't. You can add fresh herbs to this dressing(oil and lemon/lime juice) if you wish.

    Happy Anti-yeasting!

      Dry mustard??

First of all, thank you!!! I had no idea you could make mayo!

While I'm on this clense can I use lemon juice? I thought all fruits were off limits??

Also dry mustard and cayenne? Spices, right? Are they safe to use during this period?

It looks like an easy thing to throw together but I don't want to derail my progress.

Every time I turn around I'm more confused! hehe maybe what I thought was 'brain fog' is really the way I am!! gasp!

You know I didn't make this mayo until I was on the KISS diet for 6 weeks.
I remember I didn't have any bad reaction from the spices in the Mayo, but everyone is different.
