  • I think I have a Yeast problem!! HELP

So I've been feeling a little uncomfortable lately. I just got off of a round of antibiotics for a bladder infection a couple of weeks ago. I started researching the yeast problem many people have and read the chapter in the book. I took the "yeast test" I found on here where you spit in a glass and sure enough I failed. So what do I do know? Give up cheese!!! Atkins is certainly going to suck without my cheese. Can I simply get a diflucan from my doctor and have that clear it up or do I need to take other steps as well. I have no clue where to start to get this under control.

Life without cheese for a couple of weeks might suck, but life with a yeast over-growth sucks for much longer. Even if you take anit-fungal meds, you still need to be off cheese, nuts, fruit, other dairy, mushrooms, vinegar and condiments containing vinegar for at least two weeks.

If you don't get it under control in the early stages, you will have to do an even stricter diet in the future. If you are serious about losing weight, you'll have to get the yeast under control as it can prevent you from losing. You will most likely crave what the yeast needs to continue to grow, so you might crave all those things as the yeast starts to die off.

Thank you so much for you reply. I bought some garlic pills (which contain natural and artificial vanilla flavor so I'm not sure they are even okay to take) and I got some acidophilus plus. The garlic pills say to take two three times a day..i've been taking 3 3x a day. The acido. pills say to take 1 2x a day and I've been taking 4 a day. I also took a diflucan from my doctor. Is this enough to do? The only slip I have had since I found out about my yeast problem..is 1.5 ounces of cheddar and three tablespoons of ceasar dressing. I'm a picky picky eater and the only way I can tolerate salads is with cheese and dressing!!! I'm finding this to be the most difficult part..the salads. If I cut out salad then I'll only be eating 1 cup of other veggies...boring!

You don't HAVE to eat salad.

You can eat many salad veggies cooked. Spinach, radishes (awesome sauteed) mushrooms, kale... Eat cucumber plain or with a little salt. Celery is a salad veggie!

Use romaine leaves like tortillas. Spread tuna salad thin, roll up, yum!
